The Easy Way To Get Healthy!

1. Get a good night's sleep

A healthy day starts off with a good night's sleep. Most of us do not get enough sleep. We should be getting 8 hours of sleep a night. If you do not get 8 hours I am sure you are already feeling the negative effects during your work day. Sleep is the first important step for living a healthy lifestyle. It allows your body to process through and recover from the daily work stresses. When you get the correct amount of sleep you will be much more healthy, productive, and ready for a full work day.

2. Stick to a schedule for the  work day

We are all busy and will always be busy. So busy cannot be the reason why we are not living a healthy lifestyle. In our heads we never have the time for certain things, which is why we have to make the time.  We need to schedule out our day to make sure we get to all of the things we need to get done.

We need to schedule our lunch so we do not skip it. We need to schedule our workout or we will be more likely to miss it. These are just a few examples, but statistics show that if we write down our goals we are much more likely to follow through with them. So spend a few minutes at the beginning of the day writing down your goals or a schedule to follow, even if they are just your goals for the day. It takes just a little work to be healthy.

3. Eat a healthy breakfast

One thing we need to do is make time to eat. This starts with breakfast. It really is the most important meal of the day. The length of time from dinner to breakfast is the longest period of time that we go without eating. Try doing work on an empty stomach. Not so productive, right?

We need to get some fuel into our bodies so we can perform at our best and stay healthy throughout our work day. We put fuel in our car when it is empty, so why would we not put fuel into our bodies when we need it.

Yet breakfast is not the only focus. We do not want to skip lunch or dinner either. So get in the habit of getting those healthy meals in and possibly some  healthy snacks.  Healthy snacks (like fruit with some nuts) can tide us over until the next meal so we will not be starving which can cause overeating.

4. Stretch

Stretching is something that most people do not do. More and more people have jobs where they sit for most of their day. This is not healthy. This causes a lot of our muscles to be tight which leads to bad posture and incorrect movement patterns.

Such work conditions ultimately can lead to injury. We want to avoid this. Therefore, for every hour we are sitting down at work, we should get up for 5 minutes to move around, straighten up, and stretch.

5. Get some activity for 30-60 minutes a day

Due to our inactive work lives and lifestyles, we do not get enough healthy activity in our daily lives. This is one of the things we need to make time for. Making gym time is great but most people do not have a gym membership nor do they want one.

You could hire a personal trainer to come to your work.  You could also start a walking group at lunch time. When you get home from work you could pick up the kids or your dog and head over to the park for an hour , and then everybody could benefit from your healthy lifestyle.

6. Relax

Stress can have many negative effects on our bodies. So sometimes we just need to relax. This does not mean sitting in front of the t.v. for hours. There are many ways we can take some time for ourselves and just forget  about all of the things we are working on. An example would be closing your eyes and meditating for 10 to 15 minutes during our day. We do not always have to be on the go.

7. Plan for the next day

If we can start out with a game plan before our work day even starts, then we can guarantee success. Making our  meals and packing them for the next day will make sure we can eat healthy and we won’t have to settle for last minute fast food. Planning our outfits is also important so we do not have to rush in the morning, and then be late to work or that important meeting with the boss.

Furthermore, packing some exercise clothes to ensure we can get our activity in for the day is also a good idea. Always try making a plan. This will reduce the stress level of our busy day. And every day is a busy day , so be prepared and then you will be successful in making your lifestyle a healthy one.
