5 Exercises You Can Do Anywhere, in 15 Minutes

How many times have you tried to lose weight and "failed?"  Often we set unrealistic goals around how much and how long we will work out for.  I have heard friends and family say they are going to the gym every day this week to work out. When life got in the way and they didn't make it one day, they basically gave up. "I don't have time was often their reason."

My philosophy is that being active daily is vital to living a healthy life, but that doesn't mean you need to be in the gym for hours a day. You don't even need a gym membership.

Try doing these 5 body weight exercises, 3-4 days a week and watch as you get stronger in under 15 minutes a day!

For 2 weeks I worked out and did only these 5 exercises and cardio 2 days a week. Here is how I did it in only 15 minutes a day, 4 days a week:

1. Set a timer on your phone for 1 minute intervals with no rest in between. I use HIIT interval training app on my Android.

2. Perform each exercise for 1 minute, doing as many reps as possible with good form and resting when needed.

3. When 1 minute is up immediately switch to the next exercise.

4. After 5 minutes you will have done all the exercises.

5. Go through it 2 more times for a total of 3 sets in 15 minutes.

The 5 exercises are:

Push-ups

Squats

Lunges

Pull-ups

Bicycle crunches

Add 2 days of HIIT cardio to make a 5 day regimen that you can do anywhere, no excuses.

Example of HIIT workout:

1. Warm up - 5 minutes walking

2. Run/sprint - 60 seconds

3. Walk - 90 seconds

4. Repeat 8 times

5. HAVE FUN DOING IT. As long as you do the types of exercises you enjoy, you can handle anything for 15 minutes per day. Your body and your health will be very grateful!

I have severe arthritis in my knees, feet, hands... lucky me. Females in my family are lucky that way. Anyway, I can't do some of these exercises.. do you have ones that I could use... I can't get on the floor..rather I can't get UP from the floor. I will do the ones I'm able to do. I have one of those round things that I put between my knees and squeeze & hold for as long as comfy, several times a day. Just started but am told it'll be great for my legs. Any ideas?
