San Francisco Chiropractor talks about a New York Times article that explains repetitive stress injuries and forward head syndrome in children from digital media. This study involves over 30,000 teenagers and has shown that TV viewing, computer use and computer gaming (screen time) were consistently associated with back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and recurrent headaches. This is and should be very...

Most patients who suffer from neck injuries or aches and pains in the neck and upper back area, have decreased energy and fatigue throughout the day. Sleep quality is often times affected and even with a good night of sleep, fatigue seems to be a linking symptom to neck pain most of the times. Most patients who have neck pain suffer from poor posture and forward head syndrome which can create a hump...

Chronic low back pain is among the most common patient complaints not just in my office, but nationally. Chronic low back pain can be caused by a variety of reasons. 25 percent of Americans have had a back pain complaint within the past three months and this statistic has been this way for years. The rate of spinal surgery, injections, medication and other invasive treatments for back pain has been...

When a new patient comes into my office, I do a complete Neurological and Orthopedic examination as well as a review of organ systems. I explain to patients that your brain controls everything in your body, every cell, every tissue, every organ. The way it does that is by sending signals of life through the nervous system which sits within the spinal cord and into the various organs. The nerves that...

An article from the Internet Journal of Orthopedic Surgery in 2004 covers the relationship between immune dysfunction and vertebral misalignment. Among 240 atopic dermatitis patients who did not receive spinal correction...

Most of us spend countless hours each day sitting behind our desks, in front of the computers, or driving to and from work. As a result - gradually and over time - our posture slowly starts conforming to these circumstances. We begin to find ourselves slouched with our heads in a forward position, and it isn't until we hear our friends, family, co-workers comment about our posture that we actually...

Often times in my practice I see patients who come in with tension or cluster headaches and migraines that have tried EVERYTHING. Nothing has been helpful from injections to meditation and everything in between. They've been to multiple chiropractors, lots of neurologists, acupuncturists and migraine specialists, but NOTHING has helped. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for someone to experience...

New study that just came out TODAY! The study evaluates the relationship between lack of motion in a child's neck and chronic tension headaches in healthy children. We see and help many patients with headaches, it is always amusing to me that no physician has looked into the cervical (neck) spine of headache patients to find the root cause of the problem. Medication is not the way to go unless all...

This is an example of what corrective care chiropractors are doing. A 5 year old patient diagnosed with ADHD and treated by a pediatrician with methylphenidate (Ritalin), Adderall, and Haldol since he's been 2 years old and without any success other than the side effects that may have affected his nervous system negatively. He gets under the care of a corrective care chiropractor and he recognizes...
