Newport Beach Chiropractor: Can Chiropractic Help Children with Chronic Headaches

New study that just came out TODAY! The study evaluates the relationship between lack of motion in a child's neck and chronic tension headaches in healthy children. We see and help many patients with headaches, it is always amusing to me that no physician has looked into the cervical (neck) spine of headache patients to find the root cause of the problem. Medication is not the way to go unless all other options have been exhausted specially in children.

This study shows that majority of the children who have been suffering from chronic tension headaches have reduced range of motion in their cervical (neck) spine and lack of motion in those segments causes taut and tender muscles in the area that can then lead to tension headaches. This research study supports the fact that the cervical spine should be the explored in children with headaches as the root cause of the problem.

Chiropractors help patients whether a child or an adult in determining if the root cause of a tension headache is in the spine; if that is the case, a chiropractor can help! Be sure the chiropractor you chose to go to is experienced and specializes in seeing children. Chiropractic care can also help strengthen the immune system and help the body function better.
