What a great doctor! Dr Waters has been my rheumatologist for the last 8 years. He has worked closely with my ophthalmologist at Baskin-Palmer Eye Institute in order to determine the correct medications needed for my chronic eye problems. We would never have found the answer without his help! I access his internet portal whenever I need copies of lab work or wish to review appointment notes. His staff is always helpful and responsive to my needs. I love working with everyone at his office.

Dr. Waters has been my rheumatologist for many years. He is a wonderful diagnostician and physician. It is a comfort for me to be under his medical care.

I would say that any good review on this site is one Dr. Waters filled out himself. He was the most rude, obnoxious Dr. I have ever met. Absolutely no help at all. Lord forgive me on wishing an AI for him.

having just moved back to so fla from NC in June 2015, I had to wait 3 months for insurance to kick in. I was referred to Dr. Waters for fibromyalgia. I saw him in Sept & f/u in Oct. he only gave me 1 refill for lyrica when I was there in Oct, no 3 month supply. I was only taking one time per day so the bottle lasted a while. I was still not feeling good so in Dec. I started to take 2x as prescribed. towards the end of Dec. I started to feel improvement. when I called the office to get a refill they told me I had to come into office again, mind you, ins kicked in Sept., I had 9 doctor appointments from sept to dec at my new employer while I still had the insurance. I started new job 3rd week in January, thus no insurance again. I asked them to give me a couple of refills until new insurance kicked in and I was told no. I received a discharge letter shortly after. so first week of new job with withdrawals of lyrica, not feeling good at all. I am extremely dissatisfied with this doctor, he was rude & short. never recommend him & wish I could report him to someone who cares!! the lady at the front desk had no compassion at all for my situation.

It is so very ironic that this write up singing Dr. Waters' praises is so absolutely contradictory to my experience. Dr. Waters diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia yet stated he would not treat it. I came from another Rheumatologist whom had expressed great concern with my level of pain, my swollen and aching joints, my elevated RA factor, my osteoporosis, positive Ankylosing Spondylitis tests, etc. My previous Rheumatologist had written me several prescriptions for further tests which he verbally stated he would "humor me" and go ahead and run them. He ordered no tests of significance on his own yet those that my prior Dr. had ordered came back with many red flags such as indications of multiple myeloma, inflammatory bowel disease, worsening osteoporosis, and a chest X-ray indicating an unknown mass. (None of which I would have ever known about had I not been insistent on getting copies of the results). So upon my 2nd visit to see Dr. Waters, his lovely blonde assistant informed me that all of my tests came back normal and I was fine. No real need to see me again. I had fibromyalgia and according to him he did not treat that yet instead I should see a psychiatrist. Today I "humored" him with a follow up visit to share some of the findings of more recent tests. He immediately asked if the tests had anything to do with Rheumatoid Arthritis and if not, he was not interested. But eventually he looked at them and perhaps something struck him. Perhaps the "oh s_ _ _ t" factor hit him when he realized my Oncologist had found that same mass in my lungs and was treating me for multiple myeloma in its early stages (indicated in the tests Dr. Waters had stated were normal). It's also pretty bad when your dermatologist has to run the proper tests for Lupus to find an issue! Anyway at that point he still said although I had fibromyalgia he would not be treating me but emphasized the fact he wanted to know the results of more tests from my Oncologist. And why in the world would he want to know that since that had nothing to do with RA? I inquired. Nice try for a CYA maneuver, Doc. Good luck with the future and what it most likely holds for you and your career.

He's very sweet & cares about his patients. Puts a little humor in your visit so its not completely awkward or nerve wrecking. He also thoroughly explains whatever the problem may be and lays out your options to fix it. He's one of my favorite specialists!
