I chose Kindred, because I consider this my second home. I continue to come back because I'm always pleased with their services. I started going to Kindred when I became ill a few years ago and I typically end up in the hospital a few times a year to manage my illness. If I ever have any concerns they are quick to address things. They always find a way to make things better. They listen to me and make sure I get the care I need. There is another facility that is newer and closer to my house, but I still choose to go to Kindred. I know I can look forward to the care and the experience that I expect. Before coming to Kindred I thought it was going to be more like a long term nursing home or rehab hospital, but its not. That is not what this place is. This is more like a regular hospital but they can keep patients here longer. I get the same care and attention that I get at the hospital. Every service that I have needed, they make it possible. They have the staff and resources to make sure I get taken care of and resolved. Although, I find the Kindred LTAC to be more comfortable and more personable than the regular hospital. I think because of the size of the hospital and the friendly staff that really get to know the patients it makes it feel more like home. I was admitted to their ICU a few years ago, and now I have an etirely new vision of what ICU is and what roles nurses play in patient care. I see the ICU nurses like angles. I had no idea the care that goes into taking care of an individual. They give it their all. The department is phenominal. The floor nursing staff is also wonderful. They are right on target. The nurses introduce themselves at every shift. I'm always kept abreast on what to expect and when to expect things to happen. Respiratory therapy comes in to introduce themselves and tell me how to contact them. They come whenever I call them and they arrive with a smile. They also have a Leadership Ambassador assigned to every patient. Someone from the team stops by every week to make sure things are going okay. They address any concerns if I have any and they keep things running smoothly. That makes me feel confident and safe that someone will always be around to help me if I need it. The facilty is beautiful and the rooms are big and private. A lot of hospitals do not provide that luxury. I recommend anyone that is debating a transfer to Kindred LTAC, to do it. I continue to be pleased and I've gone through it myself, so I'm confident others will have the same experience.
My stay at kindred. I have been here before and I have always received excellent care here. I never worry they will discharge me too soon. My needs always come first. Even if I had multiple health concerns they would address it all. When I first arrived we had a hard time finding an effective antibiotic but after 5 trials we finally found one that worked which was a huge relief. I enjoyed working with Natalie and Leonard from Rehab. They were so friendly and up beat. They tried to keep things interesting. I love the wound care team too. Dr. Reyhani is the best! If anyone ever has any foot problems I highly recommend him. I've had several surgeries on my foot and he had gotten me through every one of them. Everything is clean here and everyone is very helpful at Kindred Clear Lake.
I chose Kindred Clear Lake because I had been there before and had a good experience. it's always so nice and clean and the people are good to me. The staff was always pleasnt and positive. They kept me motivated. They always kept me focused on the goal of getting better. Wound care was very attentive. They would check my skin and always made sure I was well stocked with supplies. Michelle and Pauline came by regularly and stayed on top of my wound care. They were so caring and prompt while remaining pleasant to be around and talk to. The rehab team Glesson and Doug were very helpful and had patience with me. They worked with me and kept me motivated AND SAFE! I felt safe with them because they let me work at the pace I was comfortable with. I wanted thank Brenda the nurse tech for being so kind and attentive. She would encourage me and was always there for me when I needed help. CJ was a good tech and remaind professional to help me feel comfortable at all times. They use the latest technologies and sanitation practices which is so important to prevent infections. I'm glad I chose Kindred, I would stay if I could to complete my rehab if I could but I realize its time to move on to the next level to focus on my physical rehabilitation.
I dont have a lot of experience with the proceedures that are involved with a hosital stay, so I was in the dark a lot. What I found out is most people at Kindred Clear Lake were available to help me along the way. They explained how things work and what to expect to happen while being an inpatient. I learned that the staff will help with everything. For example if my food tray was wrong, they would replace it for me. I didnt know you could do that. Rehab was really great too. They would come pick me up and take me to the gym everyday and bring me back. I loved it! It was a lot of fun to work out with their equipment and sometimes we went outside. They always mixed things up and did something different. I think it all attributed to my recovery. Instead of having a terrible time, which is what I expected in a hospital, I actually enjoyed it. Everyone made it more enjoyable than I expected. It was a very friendly environment.
I transferred to Kindred Clear Lake from Bay Area Regional and it went great from the start. The service and care has been wonderful. My care teams and doctors have done a great job managing my current health concerns as well as my pre-existing conditions. Nursing and rehab teams have really been commendable. They are open and able to communicate. I've had experiences with other hospitals and doctors and they had bad bed-side manner. But here, that wasn't the case. Everyone explained things about medications and what they were for. The staff was enjoyable and even humorous. They seem more like a family. I'm so glad this is nothing like a nursing home. Nursing homes are not motivating, they can leave you feeling lonely. Not this place. they keep me motivated and I feel like I can weather the storm. If there is no hope for tomorrow, then how can we overcome the obstacles today. Its for us to choose what we believe and how we live. God lays the path and helps you overcome those obstacles. So is a man to think it in his heart, so is he. So I applaud Kindred Clear Lake. I'm leaving here full of hope and healing. Praise God! I'm Al Moore, and I approve this message! :)
My experience with KHCL has been very good as far as the care and fiendly attitudes of the staff go. The bedside care was good and they even did all my tests like x-ray and scans here. I liked that they could do that here and not have to send me out anywhere else to do it. They talked to me about the process and talked me through it all.
The facility and the staff is outstanding. The staff is very attentive and aware of patient needs. Not just the nurses, but everybody was great. Wound care to Case Management to the techs...they have all been wonderful and friendly. I want to mention Jennifer, Heather, and Micah from nursing. They were always there when I needed them and they always had answers for me. Natalie from rehab was extremely helpful and caring. Even the staff that does the cleaning was pleasant and thoughtful. They did their job well. The doctors were always aware of what was going on with their patients here. I felt like they always communicated to one another and knew my case well. They don't push their work off on anyone else. I've been to many hospitals over the years, so I have some insight on what to expect and I still say that Kindred Clear Lake is truly outstanding!
I thought the nursing staff was very knowledgeable, attentive and good overall. Some are better than others, but I was able to get a since of their proceedures and you could tell they all follow standard proceedures. I was impressed that they have Leadership Ambassadors and a Patient Relations Rep that comes by to greet you and welcome you, and they continue to check on you throughout the stay. Nurses Melissa, Angelina, and Luke were excellent. They were knowledgable, attentive, and went above and beyond the call of duty for me. Nobody every hits 100%, but they are at least 97%. That is imressive! Really all the staff would take time to check on me and my progress and they were always making sure to do whats best for the patient and not whats more convienient. Even if I needed something any my nurse was not available at that time another nurse would step in to help. They were all attentive and helpful to make sure my needs were taken care of. I have received wound care before and that service was more agressive than what I received here. They didnt do as much as I expected to promote healing, so if I needed additional wound care I would go to another center. The facility and my room and restroom was always kept clean. They would offer to change my linnens regularly. With all things considered, with this type of facility and what its designed for, they are really good.
I've been very happy with my stay here. The care teams have all treated me excellently. Wound care cured my legs. They were in terrible shape when I arrived and now they look great. The medical director, Dr. Eisenberg, knows how to ramrod the opperation. He runs it well and he is a good guy. My Nephrologists was great too. All future patients should watch out for Dr. Sarcar! She likes to joke around and have a good time while treating her patients, which I enjoyed and looked forward to. The ID team was good. My pain managment Dr. Hatmaker is a swell guy. I trust him explicitly, which is important, and he always takes care of my needs. Jeff from radiology is always great. He is a cool guy and runs his department well. When you need something he is there for you. Dietary is good too. There have been some really outstanding nurses here that go above and beyond. Aileen, Ky, Donna, and Alice are all outstanding! The nurse manager Sylvia is pretty awesome too.
Mostly my hospital stay was good. It could have been better. The first day I arrived there was a delay in meeting my care giver. Once she came in she looked at me and started her assessment. The plan to transfer to kindred was in place for a week but when I got here they seemed surprised. Once everyone was up to speed the care went well. I'm pretty self sufficient and dont require as much care as some of the other patients, but there were several shifts I wish the nurse would have checked on me more often. I also worked with the rehab team. Leigh with PT was good. She helped me regain my ability to take care of myself. She worked with me about 3 days a week and helped motivate me to do things on my own. The wound care nurses were fantastic. Darla and Paula were great about troubleshooting some of the obsticals of my wound care. They took great measures to make sure the infection I had was isolated so things didnt get worse. That gave me great relief, I didnt have to worry about the infection and felt I could move on with other things. I wasnt very happy with the food selections or preporations. Maintenance and housekeeping were great. Housekeeping was in my room everyday making sure everything was clean.
