I wondered if everyone was screened when they hired on because it seemed that everyone had such a caring spirit from the minute I walked in. All of the nurses have been concerned about my care and my recovery. The nurses and techs watched over my care closely and made sure I got things timely. Nurse Comfort was always proactive and showed up right on time. Heather would work with me on the weekends. She helped care for me physically, mentally and emotionally. She was always there for me and I appreciate her. In fact, every nurse that I had were great, but those two stand out the most. The therapy team, Glesson and Paul could tell when I needed to get out of my room and go outside. They would take me out for fresh air. They made me feel like people really cared. Housekeeping, dietary, and every other department has been courteous and kind. I never thought a hospital stay could be such a blessing. If I ever had to be in a hospital for an extended amount of time, this is the place!
You are making a wise choice by going to Kindred Clear Lake. My experience has been outstanding. They work as a team and are friendly in every way. Staff go out of there way to be helpful. From the cafe staff all the way to the head nurse and administrators they do whatever it takes to make sure you are comfortable and have a good stay. There were many employees that stand out. Janie, Sharon, Anna in ICU, Kay in Respiratory were all so friendly. They came to me and befriended me in a time that I really needed it. Alma spent some very rough nights with me and she stayed so calm the entire time which helped me relax. I knew she knew what she was doing and I could trust that I would be taken care of. Victor is such a delight. There is never a time he doesn't have a smile. The therapy team is superb. Larry and I came up with a plan and set up goals. He explained that they work as a team and was very reassuring that anyone on the team could get me where I needed to go. Katy, Paul, and Aaron were all fantastic and are extremely knowledgeable in their field. There is power in prayer and Janeth recognized that I needed a different kind of support from someone else. She took time out to pray with me. That was a pick me up and made me realize that prayer works and there are many out there fighting battles worse than ours. My list goes on and on too long to list them all. I have made progress here and I'm ready to go to the next step. Just like Ellen says on her show everyday, "Be kind to one another." That's what I've found here.
It's a great place to go to. I notice good team work with the nurses and all departments. I have no complaints. They have been good to me. If something I needed wasn't available they found a way to make it available. I highly recommend anyone to come here for hospital care and rehab care. I was at my lowest when I arrived and they nursed me back to health. I have come a long way. I'm so thankful. Thank God and thank everybody at Kindred Clear Lake.
I have been to countless hospitals and I have never ever experienced the level of care, kindness and compassion that I have here. From doctors, nurses, all the way to housekeepers, they have been wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone! They are just so friendly and eager to care for their patients. You can tell they really care about you, as a person. Of all the other hospitals I've gone to this place stands out, because you can tell the staff truly care about the patients. The doctors do too. Dr. Eisenberg has great bedside manner, he is very attentive and personable. He explained everything along the way and even referred me to another doctor outside the hospital that I can keep seeing who has a similar bedside manner. That meant a lot to me. Dr. Eisenberg and the house doctor even went out of their way to check on my wife to assure her heath was taken care of when she was visiting me. Dr. Eisenberg is the best doctor I've ever had in my entire life and one of the neatest people I've ever met. If anyone is in need for long term acute care, Kindred Clear Lake is the place to go.
I have hope again, that I can get some independence back. Now I know I can have some type of normal life again. When I first came to Kindred I could not walk and wasn't eating, because I couldn't keep anything down. After working with the rehab team I'm hungry all the time! Being more active has kept my appatite up and built my strength up and I can finally walk again. I never thought I would. It makes me happy to have hope again. I look forward to continuing my recovery. The case manager is trying to find a good facility that works with my insurance company for me to continue my rehab recovery. Initially when I came here I was scared, because I didnt know what to expect. I was missing home and worried about being in the hospital during the holidays. Now I'm okay. I'm even okay with staying a few extra days if it comes down to it.
I could not recommend a better hospital. They have good nursing and doctors care. When you call for a nurse you will get immediate care. I don't spend a long time waiting around for help. The doctors I have here pay attention to my every need. Dr. Armstrong gave me his phone number! Any time I have a question for the doctor, I know he will be there for me. They have excellent food service. The breakfast is excellent and fresh. They serve real eggs, real bacon, grits, sausage, there are many options that I like. Lunches and suppers are also excellent. Luby's has been serving Kindred since I've been here and they have always done an excellent job. The rehab and wound care services have also been excellent. Their attitude, the way the treat you, and care for you makes a difference. Their ability to meet your needs have been first class. If you have a family member or friend that needs long term care, Kindred Clear Lake is an excellent choice. I am completely satisfied.
Your experience at Kindred Clear Lake will be good. The nursing staff is awesome, the front office people are awesome, and the therapists are awesome. When I called the front office with questions they sent the patient advocate straight to me within 5 minutes. The food is wonderful. I'm sorry to say other hospitals were horrible, but at Kindred I have enjoyed the food. It was like a home cooked meal. It actually had flavor! The nurses were johnny on the spot to take care of me quickly. I spiked a fever one night and the nurses didn't hesitate to call my doctor and get treatment immediately. I dont wait around for pain medicine or ice or drinks or anything, because they have a great nurses and great techs. The case manager Nola has worked diligently to arrange everything for my discharge. That makes me feel important and that she has my back. I don't have to worry about doing all this by myself. Therapy is doing a good job with me. They let me take my time and show them what I can do. We work together to meet my goals. They don't push me to do what they want, its what we agreed on. I have made good progress. Kindred has good doctors too. They have been friendly with good bed side manners. They come by to check on me everyday and take care of my needs. One night it was raining and cold, and the doctor went out of his way to come see me in person and review my reports. He didn't leave it up to the nurse to take care of, he made sure to see me personally. The wound care team makes sure my wound stays clean and is healing. Dr. Guidry, the wound care doctor, is really good. She sees me daily and oversees my treatment. No matter what you are going through, they have good people at Kindred Clear Lake. If I had to come back to the hospital, I would choose to come back to Kindred Clear Lake.
Kindred Clear Lake is good. They have nurses that do a very good job, they complete their job with a smile. They deliver my antibiotics and treat me very well. The CNA's are very very wonderful and stay positive. They answer all my questions and seem very smart. The hospital is clean which makes me feel more comfortable being here.
My experience as a family member of a patient went well. From admission to discharge I liked everything about it. What stands out to me was how well trained and friendly the staff was. Amanda in patient relations, Jamie the Case manager, Marcus the unit secretary, Kisses the tech, Bertha and Elizabeth from housekeeping, Tracy at the front desk, and every doctor on his team were exceptional and friendly. You can tell they really and literally care. You can tell they are not here for "a job" they are here because they really care. You can feel the love. They gave me a cot so I could stay the night, but once I got to know them I knew I could trust them enough that I didn't have to stay. I knew he would be taken care of. Keep up the good work at Kindred Clear Lake. I'll recommend to any one I know.
I recommend Kindred Clear Lake wound care to everyone. Especially wound care nurse Mia. There is something special about her care and her gentle patient interaction. Wound care can be very painful. The gentle touch and professionalism is a science that can't be taught, you either have it or you don't. Mia goes beyond the call of duty to take care of her patients. She goes extra to make sure the pain is minimal and she listens to my needs and wants. I tell everyone who needs wound care to go to Kindred Clear Lake and ask for Mia! But wait until I'm discharged, because you cant take her from me!
