My Aunt Jessie Sherrill, who is 86 and lives in Black Mountain, NC, was in New Jersey to surprise her brother, my dad, for his 80th B-day Party. A couple of days after the celebration she fell and broke her hip. Needless to say she was very upset, not only because she had broken her hip, but to have it happen so far from home.
After having successful hip surgery at JFK Hospital, physical therapy was prescribed. This is when she became a resident of Regency Heritage from June 5 through June 25, 2015. During her 3-week stay, not only did she receive top notch physical therapy from phenomenal physical therapists, but she expressed on numerous occasions that she felt the Therapists truly cared about her progress and had a vested interest in helping her to return to normal activity as soon as possible. You see, though my Aunt is 86, she is a very active 86; when home, she attends Yoga and Aerobic classes and participates in many Church and Community activities. For her, having attentive Therapist was very important and very much appreciated.
Lastly, my Aunt would be upset with me if I did not mention the care she received from the nursing staff and aides. Charge Nurses Khadiyah, Paul and Edith; Floor Nurses Ruwani and Kimberly, Aides Yvette, Edelaine, Theodorine and Zena ensured that she received the utmost personal care. During my visits, my Aunt always mentioned that she was being treated like a “Queen”. She was extremely impressed by the attentiveness of the Nurses and Aides and commented on several occasions about the personalized care she was receiving and that it helped to ease the sadness of being so far away from home.
In closing, my family and I would like to thank the entire Staff of Regency Heritage – knowing our Aunt was receiving such wonderful care truly gave us peace of mind, and we whole heartedly THANK YOU!!!
Sincerely,
Dorian Walden for The Family of Jessie Sherrill
