Corporate International Travel And Eating

When you travel over seas,  it is often quite a different experience. You have a new culture which means different food. In addition, the food is often something we are not familiar with, so a good suggestion is to research the cultures before leaving and you may be able to find good healthy food that you like.

In the case of not being sure of the food at the travel destination,  pack items like dried fruit, nuts, turkey, or beef jerky. Protein bars and proteins powder are also healthy food and easy to take with you. These items can be snacks or meal replacements.

Also, break your day down. Think about breakfast at the travel spot. Most places have eggs, and coffee or tea. Also you can have one of your snacks that you brought . For lunch try to get a protein source and vegetables, and then eat one of your snacks. Do the same at dinner. See what the travel spot has to offer.

If you are lucky enough to go to the market with someone who lives in the country you are staying, even better.  Then you can get some things that are good and healthy and they can explain what  it is you are buying to eat.

Travel and eating in Europe can be easier than let’s say China. The food in Europe is very fresh but when eating out, food can have a lot of sauces on it. So just try to ask what is in this? Try to eat as plain as possible to maintain your weight.

Another good suggestion is to take a pro-biotic before leaving and take it with you and continue to take throughout your trip to keep your gut healthy.

Furthermore, drink lots of water. A good rule of thumb is to drink it from a sealed bottle. Locals may be used to the water but you may not be.

Working and jet lag can take their toll on your body and your mind, so eating healthy and taking a multi-vitamin when traveling over seas are always smart things to do. Take care of yourself for a more productive business trip!
