Newport Beach Chiropractor: The Myth of the Due Date

Did you know that only 2 percent of women deliver on their 'due date'? It is important to know that due dates are determined by your physician based on the average length of pregnancy which is 280 days, or 40 weeks from the first day of a woman's last menstrual cycle.

The 'norm' or average established obstetrically will vary from one pregnancy to the next involving a variety of factors. A due date can, at times, create a counterproductive distress in an otherwise healthy full-term mother.
