Transgender Journey

I guess this is the place for my thoughts on the above topic :)) As a member of the Harry Benjamin group for fifteen years, I've watched this community grow and increase its voice. At first the organization was doctors only; now, many transsexual and transgender people are part of the attempts to give good service to this community of brave folks. For anyone who does not like the SOCs, join and let your voice be heard!

My favorite part of my job comes when it is time to write "the letter" to the surgeon for SRS :)) The journey can take a few months or many years, depending on the person on the path. Some folks come to me ready to transition and some come with new courage to face their own truth. Each one is different. My joy comes in the transition, and their pride in themselves.

I have been licensed as a clinical social worker for almost twenty years. I enjoy working with folks who identify as transgender or who have Dissociative Identity Disorder.
