Daily we are bombarded with the gloom of the economic situation. The newspapers and television reporters talk about the vast number of layoffs and the decline of the stock market. If you are a follower of the stock market and have seen the decline in your stocks you cannot help but feel worry. With constant negative information about the economy we often think- uh-oh we really must be in trouble. We then tend to take on the attitude of doom in our own financial situation. We begin by thinking that we could be faced with a layoff or concern about not earning enough. We begin to feel the pressure of what others say and the media is telling us so our internal dialogue is "things must be difficult" and we subconsciously believe they ARE difficult. Before you know it you are discussing this with friends and family, not realizing that you are making it worse by voicing negative thoughts. Once we say these negative thoughts out loud it's as if we are making a broadcast to the world. Yes this is true, because once you say something aloud it's truly as if it has already happened. If we watch our thoughts and also what we say we have more personal power and strength to get beyond what others say and think. It takes more effort to have a negative thought than to have a positive thought. Science has documented this. What hasn't been said is that it takes more positive thoughts and words to erase the negative thoughts. There are a great many masters and teachers and best selling books that talk about this subject. I began studying this way of being in my teens. People ask me how I can be so positive all the time. Clients tell me they have learned a new way of thinking and speaking by my example. When they are with me they catch themselves in a negative sentence and re-phrase it to the positive. Sometimes we need a mirror to ensure that we are on the right track of positivity. We are in need of greater awareness of what words are coming out of our mouths. What phrases and images we are sending. It is paramount to our health, wealth, and happiness that we begin to phrase our sentences in a positive light. You can change an "I can't" into "Well it might be possible" or you can change "It's impossible" into "It's a challenge". Such simple alterations to our sentences begin to work on our subconscious and enough positive changes people will begin to ask you why you are always so positive. Because of saying careless sentences such as "I would give my right arm if I could do this and such". What can begin to happen is that the subconscious will believe you and like several of my clients the right arm begins to cease functioning. We are what we create whether we like it or not. We CAN create what we want and be better each and every day because of it. Modeling this for our children would be one of the greatest gifts we can give because it would be as if we have created a more improved version and also because our children will then keep we adults in check. Just to reflect on this for a moment remember that you can become healthy and better off financially just by what you say. So dare to allow yourself to break away from the negative input that you are constantly receiving and think for yourself. Dare to be different and "Just say NO to negativity". One way to bring more into your life is by allowing space. Giving something away ensures you have allowed space for something even better to come along. Many a master over the course of history have given their student the challenge of going out into the world without anything to fall back on. The lesson being that the more you don't have the more that will come to you easily. We cut back and cut back some more, just in case, but we forget to save from what we cut back. It's ok to cut back yet remember to save, even during the times of cutting back. When we cut back are we really creating the space for having more or are we creating worry energy around ourselves and our family just like the media? To cut back is ok but if you aren't keeping the savings from what is cut back, then all that energy went into worrying is wasted. All you've done is create more thoughts of worry and lack. My parents taught me early that you always save for what you really want and then it's easy to have it. I was teased by friends for living in the rich section of town but my parents definitely taught me that if I wanted something out of the norm I needed to figure out a way to buy it myself. They didn't do this by telling me or preaching to me about how to do it, they did this by demonstrating to me that what I earn is what I keep, and that so long as I saved some, then I could spend my earnings where I wanted. I was the first girl to mow lawns in our town. I was 11 years old and began with the old woman down the street. Given I was so shy, to this day I don't know how I got the job, but she had a huge lawn and I would push the mower down our steep driveway to her house and cut her grass and earned a healthy $10. From these savings I was able to buy my own speed bike and then saved more which enabled me to buy my own car. During this time I spent wisely and yet saved for what I wanted. I always created the space for having more by giving away what was not needed a few times a year. Remember to cut back on your negative words and abundance will arrive in unexpected ways. Create the space of having by giving to a local charity or place where you get healing, help, guidance or friendship. Each time you give to one you receive - it's the Universal equivalent of checks and balances. So if you are hording too much and are in need of something take a risk and give away a box full of stuff.
