Smooth Skin For Your Holiday Party

Looking forward to the holiday party this year? Here are some tips to get your skin party-ready:

Do you have rough skin on your upper arms? Sometimes called "chicken skin" the medical term for this condition is keratosis pilaris. The condition is worsened by friction and dry skin - both of which are more common in winter. There are many over the counter, and prescription medications that may help you. Some ingredients to look for are lactic acid, glycolic acid, retinoic acid, and retinol. And don't forget... moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! If you do not get the improvement you are looking for, do not give up. Schedule an appointment with your dermatologist.

Rough dry spots are often found on the elbows and knees. To help smooth these thick areas out, look for products with urea. Again, there are prescription strength options available if you do not have success with what you find over the counter.

Do you have spider veins on your legs? There are several ways to treat these, including sclerotherapy, and radiofrequency. Sometimes, these treatments may leave a bruise or a scab that can take about a week to resolve... so be sure to schedule the treatment ahead of your party!

Blood vessels on your nose and cheeks are easily removed with almost no down time with radiofrequency. We use an Ellman Surgitron to quickly and painlessly erase these unsightly blemishes.

Have you lost your summer glow already? Try a self-tanner. One to consider is Neutrogena Build-a-Tan - as it is you can control how dark you get. You can also use shimmer to give your skin an immediate glow.
