Falling Back...Moving Forward

by Neil
I decided on Saturday that I was going to take advantage of the free hour we received when we moved our clocks back. Instead of just doing the usual and sleeping one more hour... I'm going to trick myself and keep getting up each day at the "same time" as if I didn't turn my clock back. . So now instead of getting up at 7, I get up at 6 which is the "old seven." Since my work schedule demands I be there at the "new 8" and I get up at the "old 7" I have an extra hour every day to go to the gym! Sometimes little things like this confuse you enough so you can't talk yourself out of getting up and going to the gym or doing something you really don't want to do. I know some of you will recommend I go see a Shrink during that extra hour but I'm just sharing a crazy idea I had that has worked and got my butt to the gym again.

I was born in NYC and have lived in Minnesota, Ohio, Georgia and now my final stop...Southern California. That’s enough for now.

I'm usually there till a little later the "old 6" and I walk out backwards so they don't know what to think.

Did you get busted trying to walk out of work at 4:00? :)

Good luck Neil. I think that's a great idea. It's 6PM and dark right now. Feels really late!

The crazy thing is I would just be up anyway tossing and turning knowing I had to be up soon so why prolong the agony and not accomplish anything? No chance I will fall asleep at the gym. I seem to have more energy and need less coffee I've never seen anyone sleeping at the gym other than the people working there.

I tried that this morning. I purposely did not change the time so I could trick myself to go to the gym, but hubby went to bed after me and changed the time (he never does this not the entire time we have been married.)so I ended up sleeping in. :(.

Don't fall asleep at the gym, during your new found hour, and then miss work.
