Your Emotions Are Relevant: How to Navigate Your Emotional System

Emotions are happening to us every day. Some of us are more aware than others of the emotions that cause us to feel life more deeply, extremely, or even overwhelmingly. But regardless of what type of person you are, there is no doubt you have emotions swirling within. This swirl is a wonderful thing!

As Souls we are having a physical existence, experiencing all the Universe has to offer, good and bad. Each experience leaves us with emotions that can (and should) be thought of as our GPS system, so it’s important to keep that emotion system healthy and thriving.

Just like we take care of our cardiovascular system by exercising, or digestive system by eating right, we must take care of our emotional system too.

But wait! Where is that system?

Can you imagine if you didn’t know about the digestive system and suddenly you felt a terrible ache in your abdomen? With no knowledge of organs like the stomach or intestines you may think your bones broke or your lungs sunk. Luckily you do know about digestion, and you will certainly figure out this uncomfortable feeling in your belly.

Now it’s time you learn emotions are part of an important system called the chakra system. Like an aching belly, it can be felt like an unexplained “funk”. Chakras are energy centers that pull in the energy of feelings from our experiences.

This energy goes through the chakras, then metabolized, then affects the body by way of nadis, nerves, blood vessels, and hormones. From positive, happy, high vibrating experiences the physical body will thrive. From negative, challenging, low vibrating experiences the physical body will fall into dis-ease and eventually disease.

Think of the chakra system as a bridge between your experiences and body. Physical disease is almost always a result of a repetitively occurring experience that you observed as negative (or one huge event you interpret as overwhelmingly negative). The chakras are just processing the energy that you extrapolate as negative or positive based on limiting beliefs and conjecture.

Ok, but you may be asking what does that mean? What do I do?

It’s important to keep this system in tip top shape, and be careful what you’re feeding into those chakras. Things like raising vibrational frequency, meditation, forgiveness, living a spiritual lifestyle will help keep chakras healthy. But the most important thing you can do is leave the energy of emotions in the past and recognize right here right now you’re ok.  Remember, every event comes to you in neutral form. How you choose to interpret it is entirely up to you and will result in the type of energy that is metabolized through each chakra.

Experiencing a challenging event has a sequence that goes something like this:

  1. Experiencing
  2. Processing
  3. Understanding
  4. Feeling

These are important steps, but number 5 is most important.

5. Letting go

Put down the emotional weight of it. You can remember the event, but you don’t need to hold on to the pain and feel it forever. When we constantly relive the negative energy from the event, we are constantly metabolizing more negative energy through the chakras. Eventually the body will break down.

Each chakra governs a specific area of the body so the emotional turmoil that is associated with a specific chakra will then bring disease into that area of the body.

Many people choose to continue to relive their emotional pain, whether it be a conscious choice or not. But please know it’s not a requirement to stay in this darkness forever. Sometimes after enduring a heart breaking, painful experience our minds seem to tell us we’re required to remain in a state of mourning indefinitely.

It’s the part of the mind that also says you’re not good enough, or how dare you be happy. Whatever the reason, know that it’s okay to let go of that pain. You’re always surrounded by powerful Love Energy, whether you can sense it or not. This Love Energy is there for you, even though these dark moments make itespecially hard to feel. The Light is always there for you ... when you’re ready.
