Why are white foods being disrespected and shunned these days? While there is some truth to the "don't eat white foods" imperative, it doesn't fit for all white foods. Clearly, refined grains are not as healthy for you as whole grains. When the nutrient-rich germ and fibrous husk are removed, there go most of the vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytochemicals. Processing removes the beneficial nutrients....

Nearly 30% of diabetics in the U.S. over the age of 40 are thought to have diabetic retinopathy, with 4% of this population affected to the point of permanent vision loss, suggests a new study.
