I would give my doctor a 10/10. However working with the office staff has been extremely frustrating. I have had BA surgery and am planning on having three further surgeries this year (body contouring, FFS, bottom). I was planning on having body contouring done in October but there apparently was an issue with the insurance company being able to conduct a peer-to-peer review in time, which resulted in a denial of preapproval. When I asked both the office staff and insurance company why they could not figure out a way to connect in the 6-8 weeks between the denial and the procedure I was given different answers on why the denial took place and why an appeal would not be able to work in time. Since that time I have done my best to be a squeaky wheel with the office staff--requesting information on preapproval timelines, following up multiple times on questions regarding preapproval and scheduling, etc. I am sure I am coming across as a bit of a Karen but the reality is that I have ADHD and struggle with executive functioning, so unless I am hyperfocused on getting an answer I will completely ignore it. No one person seems like they can give me an answer on scheduling, insurance preapproval and billing so there is no one that seems to be able to answer the question of whether I will be able to schedule all three surgeries during calendar year 2025. No one seems to be able to give me a straight answer on when I can expect a confirmation on preapproval. It very well could be my ADHD is impacting my memory but there have been lots of unanswered questions asked in email and lots of unreturned phone calls. Consultation and follow up appointments get moved multiple times (the record is 4 times so far) which is difficult to plan around. Ideally I could find one person who would understand the totality of my situation (which I have expressed in email) and act as my advocate within your office and, if needed, communicate to me exactly what/when I need to reach out and push on the insurance company, maybe even level set expectations if I am asking for or expecting too much from the office/doctor/insurance. As is, I feel like I am flailing around a bit, grasping at straws and convinced something is going to fall through the cracks again. All of this I am willing to work though because I like Dr. Pang and his work so much. But if I cannot get these remaining surgeries done in calendar year 2025 I am likely going to need to go somewhere else, which would be a real bummer.
Not the first time I have dealt with Debbie. She is professional kind, she is a sweetheart goes above and beyond for her patience to make sure that you are taken care of and comfortable.
This was a phone consultation, and I did not receive a call until ~20 minutes after the appointment time. This delay was not ideal, but otherwise there were no issues.
My experience was that after being told explicitly I needed certain things done for the appointment or it would be cancelled, I was told by Ms. Ansiano they were unimportant and she never considered them. I came for a consult for breast augmentation and half the appointment I felt like were high pressure tactics to get me to choose Dr. Satterwhite for gcs bottom surgery. That left me feeling completely uncomfortable and questioning if I want to pursue anything with Align now or ever again. And frankly I am strongly discouraged from any further contact.
The website was a breeze to speed through and get everything done. The doctor was knowledgeable and kind getting me lots of information. My only real complaint is a little bit of confusion where to send reference pictures on what I want my end state to look like for clarity about size/shape (which I think is important to make sure the details are communicated on an important detail).
So far everyone has been wonderful to work with and talk with! Slight downside that my appointment got pushed up but not too bad because my work was flexible about it. :)
