This hospital is extremely clean and they provide excellent care-- during my admission here I have experienced nothing but phenomenal employees working as a team for the care of the patients. Each employee is kind and always accommodating! When I first arrived my room was ready to go and the admitting nurse explained my check in process thoroughly. The nursing staff were all hardworking individuals. I am especially thankful for Dalila, CNA, for everything she does and for always being there when I needed. I also received services from wound care, physical therapy, and dialysis - each department was knowledgeable about my treatment plans and gave me great care. Armando with physical therapy really outshines, always amazing and always pushed me to meet my goals while remaining respectful of my boundaries. My case manager, Maria, was always nice and so was Nikki, Patient Relations advocate. I would definitely recommend this hospital, it is really clea, organized and well maintained.

The nursing staff was exceptional, especially Penny who is #1!!! She was very attentive and showed true compassionate care and you can tell she definitely loves her job. She has good work ethic and never did I feel like I was bothering her when I requested to see my nurse. Bibi (night shift) was excellent and courteous when she came into the room at night - at times you couldn't even hear her coming in to change my IVs. Mimi was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about her treatments as well and explained my care plan very well.

Therapy was excellent and never did they push me past my limits. I definitely got a lot of strength back! Wound care was gentle when tending to my wounds and were always explaining the treatments that they were giving me.
My physicians were excellent as well, Dr. Orahood always treated me with courtesy and respect. He also explained my treatments in a way that I could understand. He definitely takes care of his patients!
Lastly, I would like to commend the dietary staff for always accommodating our requests - their soups were really good! Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend Kindred Bay Area for any long term care needs. Thank you!

Prior to admitting I didn't know what to expect, but once we arrived everything has surpassed our expectations. It felts as if we were in a hotel, with any accommodations we requested!! A few employees that have gone above and beyond for my husband and I have been: Glezel, Mayola, Penny, Rubi, Esperanza, Quinn, Caroline, and Sonia!! Each of these employees have been kind, helpful, attentive and hard workers - especially Rubi, my goodness from the moment she walks into our room she showers us with compassionate care.
Wound care treatments have been helpful and my husband has been receiving HBO treatments and has not had any complications or issues with the wound care team. Surprisingly the hospital food has been amazing!! I go down to the cafeteria for breakfast and lunch every day and each meal I've had here has been delicious. I have never been to a hospital before where the food has been this good, I'm almost tempted not to take my husband home because then I'll have to start cooking!!
My husband also receives dialysis treatments, they are kind and treat him well. He has not had to have long wait times and is always back in his room as soon as his treatment is complete.
We want to thank everyone for all the kind care that we have been given!! And I would definitely recommend this hospital for long care treatments!!

Thank you so much for what you are doing for me Dad and Mom. I know the beginning was a little rocky, but we were just very concerned about my Daddy getting the best care he could get. I would like to thank all those on the third floor who have been his nurses, nurses assistants, respiratory therapist, supervisors, food services staff, cleaning staff, and his physical therapist along with the wound care girls. Thank you again for everything!!! Please continue to take care of my Dad and Mom while I return back to my family in Florida. And I cannot forget Administration, Selina the Administrative Assistant, for working with us to give my Daddy his 90th birthday party and Robin in Special Procedures for checking on us periodically (and for helping g us get a new bed)!

Sincerely,
Marcy Walker Cowter

I was a patient across the street and was sent here for antibiotic therapy. All departments at Kindred BayArea have been very professional. The rooms are very neat and clean. The trash cans are emptied three or four times a day. The food was good. I'm on a heart heathy diet and don't mind the Mrs. Dash on my veggies. I learned more about my lungs and broncheals. I have learned a lot about my health here. The rooms have everything you need my only complaint is with the wash clothes, they are very rough. The staff are really clean and well put together and very well mannered. Kindred BayArea has definitely met all my needs and expectations. I have told all who visit me about the hospital and how great it is! I would especially like to recognize Cee Cee , Meemee, Lillian, and Armondo the physical therapist. They were all so professional and followed through to the end. There was not a day that Armando or Lillian didn't come back and encouraged me by saying job well done. They were really great!

I have been admitted to this is that any person that walks into my room helps me, regardless if they were assigned to my room. One particular evening I suddenly began to choke on my own saliva and by the Grace of God there was nurse right outside of my room that heard me and immediately came to my side and helped. She called for assistance and those two individuals literally saved my life... unfortunately, I do not know their names, but I can definitely recognize them if I were to see them again. God truly blessed me by placing such compassionate and loving hospital staff members here. Each individual I have met here has been genuinely kind, and you can tell the difference between someone who is working for a paycheck and someone who is working because they care about the well being of others - and I can say that all Kindred Bay Area staff members are working here because they truly care. I absolutely love Dalila, CNA, and my attending physician, Dr. Rosemary Obudulu (she visits me daily and encourages me to keep getting better)!! Lastly I'd like to compliment the dietary team and chefs for preparing food tasty meals, and accommodating any of my special requests.

Thank you all again, so very much, if I had to return to a long term care hospital again, Kindred Bay Area would be my #1 and ONLY choice!

God bless each staff member and all the patients here that are receiving 5+ star treatments.

Kindred Bay Area is a good hospital. It is a very nice place. The staff is very helpful. The top person that my daughter reacts to is Debbie. She works well with her. Terrell the speech therapist works well with her as well. She interacts with Nurse John G. also. Anytime they are asked to come and help they all respond quickly. All of my questions are answered. The doctor are great! I would recommend this hospital to anyone. I would have wished the area in ICU was larger so that I could stay over night. Our family started a blog and we happy to report that she is doing well at Kindred. Jimmy (Jimbo) her cousin is very pleased with her care. Nurses have been good to talk to, they are very helpful with information given to the family. I just want to thank everyone at Kindred BayArea. Everyone has been very good! The family can also get fresh veggie for .99cents an we get free coffee and tea. I love the daily newspaper also.

Upon admission I had a little information on what to expect, but when I actually got into my room and was settled in it was way more than I expected and even better compared to three other facilities that I have been in. All of the nursing staff members have been kind, courteous, and have shown love and compassion and interest in my well being and recovery as far as my medications, dialysis, physical and occupational therapy, wound care, and nutritional needs. Everything has been more than phenomenal!! All of my doctors, surgeons and wound care specialist have been amazing as well, they keep me thoroughly updated on my progress and treatment plans - which shows me that they really care about my recovery and returning back to a normal and healthy living... Wound care needs and dialysis treatments were my main reason for admission and both departments were great. All departments made sure I was comfortable with the treatments and had a good understanding of them. I wish I could remember each staff member by name so that i could thank each and everyone of them for their kindness and love shown towards me these last few weeks that I've been a patient. I really do not want to leave, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Von, my case manager, has been working extremely hard to find the perfect transitional facility for me and my healthcare needs!! At this facility my doctors came to visit me every single day and never once did they make me feel like I was an inconvenience when I had a lot of questions - especially Dr. James. Probably the only bad thing about this hospital is the food - the limited selection was not very appetizing. I had to settle for the basics such as toast and chicken noodle soup oftentimes because some of the food tasted pre-packaged. Other places serve fresh eggs, but the nutritionist told me they do not here. That should definitely be something that gets changed here. I would love to have had a nice sunny side up egg while I was here.
The therapy teams were also great, they kept me comfortable and motivated me to want to be in therapy everyday, even when I was tired from dialysis and not once did they try to push me past my limits. Overall kindred bay area treated me well and if I had to return I would do so because the staff truly showed me that I was important and cared for.

My overall experience here at Kindred has been great. The hospital staff are super good people who pay attention to the all the details of my treatment plan. I've had no complaints these past three weeks. The rehab team has been great as well. My physical therapists do a great job of not pressing me too hard. I get a great workout each time. Before I was admitted to kindred hospital as an inpatient I was dependent on my wheelchair. Since then I've made great progress building up strength with the rehab team going from using a wheelchair and walker to now being to able to walk on my own again!
Many thanks,

G. Vaughn
