After living in Montgomery County for 2 years I am so happy I came across Women's Health Specialist in my area. The administrative staff took time to ask me my concerns and paired me with Dr. Barter for an initial consult for fertility preservation. Fast forward, once I met with Dr. Barter he made my myomectomy procedure to have fibroids removed a priority. From start to finish, I was met with professionalism, well informed and was made comfortable. Thanks to Dr. Barter, I am now on the path to motherhood.

I have been seeing Dr James Barter since September 2017. From the first visit he was caring, reassuring and thorough. From the biopsy at that first visit through the ensuing surgery for stage one endometrial cancer I have been cared for and medically followed with the utmost concern and care. I am now three years post surgery and cancer free; I am ever so grateful that my doctor referred me to Dr Barter; he is the greatest!! I would not hesitate to refer anyone to this great doctor!!

I saw Dr. James Barter back in January for the first time after getting some troubling lab results and I have to say, he is really amazing. He spent a lot of time with my husband and I going over my results and what would come next. He made me feel totally comfortable with what I needed to do before we walked out of the office that day. Robyn, the scheduling coordinator could not have been more friendly and knowledgable and really put me at ease. Through my two procedures, follow ups and hospital visits, Dr. Barter and his staff were caring, professional and helpful in every aspect. I would highly recommend Dr. Barter and his practice. A++

Woman's Health Specialists of Montgomery County was referred to me and I consider that a wonderful blessing. Dr Barter was my surgeon and right from the onset I felt totally comfortable with him as my doctor, as my surgeon, as a person. He is so kind and patient, skilled, knowledgeable. and experienced. He took excellent care of me and I am grateful that when I had to undergo such a serious and major surgery, that I had Dr Barter. At first I was overwhelmed by all the appointments I had to make and doctors I had to see to be cleared for surgery. Robyn, at Woman's Health Specialists of Montgomery County, took on this task and arranged everything for me. She scheduled all my appointments, gave me a packet of all then necessary paperwork and followed up with me to make sure it was all going smoothly. The surgery went well and I am fine. Thank you so much Dr Barter, Robyn and Woman's Health Specialists of Montgomery County!

I have had surgery before and it was a terrible experience. The hospital staff did not provide assistance for hours. I lost a lot of blood before surgery but during the surgery I lost a lot of blood as well (a nurse grumbled about it to me postop). I was discharged with a very low blood count and had to come back for 2 bags of blood.

The staff at Women's Health Specialist Specialist restored my faith in the medical field. From the beginning they were kind, patient and informative. They kept my information confidential, and they were very prompt with their response. I LOVE THIS OFFICE!!!!

Dr. Steren and his staff are the best BAR NONE!!!!
WOMEN- if there is a surgery that is required for any reason please contact this office. I promise that you will have no regrets!!

As a healthcare professional being a patient is always a humbling experience. Knowing all the possible negative outcome of surgery was at times a little overwhelming for me. After many years of contemplating whether I should have a second surgery for my large fibroids, I was referred to see Dr Steren. After reviewing my options, I left the plan we made with Dr. Steren was the right one for me. Dr Steren is very kind, respectful, skilled and understanding person. His calm demeanor made me feel at ease, as I was very anxious on our first pre op consultation. I felt very supported and comfortable being in his care. My surgery was very successful even with all the scar tissues from prior surgery. I am truly grateful and want to thank Dr Steren and his entire team for my care. God bless you all.

My experience with the team at Women’s Health Specialist was amazing. I saw Dr. Barter for laparoscopic surgery to remove dermoid cysts on my ovaries. While I was in surgery he found other issues and was able to take care of it. The entire surgery and post-op process with Women’s Health Specialists was very easy and they made it simple to understand. Dr. Barter was caring, very attentive with his work, was able to address all my concerns, and also my husband’s questions. Would highly recommend both Women’s Health Specialists and Dr. Barter.

Ever since I moved to Montgomery county more than ten years ago I was referred to women’s health specialists by a close friend. I only have positive things to say about this practice based on my experience, I’m always treated with respect starting with the front desk staffs and the providers I see. I usually received care from Alisa Studley and all l can say about her is very positive. She’s very knowledgeable, attentive, supportive, caring, etc. I recently had a surgery and Dr Steren was my surgeon he is amazing, my rating for him is very high and I can’t find the words to praise him enough for such special knowledge/skills he has. Please don’t hesitate if you’re looking for a great practice, you will find it right here with Women’s health specialists. Thanks
