Because of the pandemic, my first appt. with Dr. Barter was virtual. Despite that, I felt at ease. Dr. Barter was friendly, down-to-earth, honest and spoke to me in terms I could understand. I knew I was in good hands and pleased my gynecologist had referred me to him. Our first face-to-face meeting was on surgery day. Dr. Barter's demeanor was still the same; down-to-earth and friendly. I told Dr. Barter at my follow-up appointment that he is amazing. He is blessed with amazing skills and an amazing personality. I am truly thankful that I received such good care.

Very impressed with the entire staff at Women's Health Specialists. Dr. Steren is a wonderful surgeon - and very easy to talk to. We only met through Zoom due to COVID - and then in person the day of my surgery. But my husband and I could tell he was terrific. And everyone from the nurses (shout out to Nadine!) to the administrative staff (shout out to Robyn!) were so responsive and helpful. They made having surgery as easy/seamless as it could be. Highly recommend the whole team!

Dr. Steren and Nadine Thompson and the staff at Women's Health Specialists are absolutely top notch and I highly recommend! Dr Steren patiently explained all my options, answered my questions, and got me through a tough time. I so appreciate their expertise and bedside manner and highly recommend! I am now 6 weeks post-op, feeling great, and so grateful for the great care! Thank you!

Dr. Barter is wonderful. Brilliant and kind at the same time. Would rate Dr. Barter and his team 10/10 and would recommend it to any woman who needs to be treated. I cannot thank you enough.

Dr. Albert is just great in treating you with patience and explaining the condition. Not just the doctor but all the staff in the facility are extremely great in following up with you about your condition or recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Albert for any gynecology related issues he is the best in this area.

I was referred to Dr. Steren by my OB/GYN. She told me if she needed surgery she would go to him. I found Dr. Steren to be thorough, informative, and well qualified. After my surgical procedure I was seen several times for post-op appts. with Nadine Thompson, PA-C. I refer to her as "my angel". She was compassionate, empathetic, and extremely gentle. She is a real asset to the practice. My experience with Women's Health Specialists has been 5 stars! .

I am a patient of Dr. Barter. I absolutely adore this man. His surgical skills and bedside manner are amazing. He is a kind and understanding man, listens and answers all question, and makes you feel like you are his only patient.
I live in Morgantown, WV and travel four hours each way to see Dr. Barter. I would travel across country if I had to.

This surgery experience was as good as I could have wished. Dr. James Barter was my surgeon and did an excellent job and made me feel comfortable and confident under his care. His staff was attentive and responsive as well as professional and courteous. I am 66 years old (not young but young enough) and my recovery was quick and almost pain-free. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Barter and his staff if someone near and dear needed their services.

Dr. James Barter and the Staff at Women's Health Specialists of Montgomery County have given me the best care and in an urgent manner as needed. I was referred to this Surgeon by my Sister and after seeing him, I can really say that he is fantastic. He has great bedside manners and is very personable. This practice is A+. When faced with a cancer diagnosis and surgery during the pandemic, I was very scared. From the first contact with the office through scheduling video consults, surgery, care in the hospital and aftercare, Dr. Steren and his staff have been amazing. They answered questions, explained everything and they continue to be supportive throughout this journey. I am a consumer advocate by training and I do research and ask a million questions. I feel confident in Dr. Steren, his PA Nadine, his team in the hospital, and just as important, the administrative staff. What else could you ask for? I am grateful.
