I have been very pleased with Lake Animal Hospital. Dr. Wolf saved the life of 1 of my cats, literally. Both of my cats have been very ll at different times. They receive good care. The cost compared to other vets I have used is much less. I use to take my pets to Madison Vet Hospital, was treated rudely at times, A few of the doctors seemed non-caring. Anyway I am choosy about the care my pet family receives. The receptionist's I have dealt with are friendly and seem to know how to do their job. Highly recommend Dr. Wolf JR..
I've been to several Vets in Lake Co., and was disappointed with the service. Fortunately, I found Lake Co. Aninal Hospital and we've been taking our pets here for 8 years now. When sudden issues have come up with our pets they've always fit us in, often times the same day I've called. I've seen the majority of the doctors there and all have been great. They have also worked with me to allow online purchases through companies like PetMeds etc...Sure, some times wait times can be long, but that is not uncommon to the industry. I highly recommend this Vet.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! The receptionists up front were cold, careless, unprofessional and clueless. These are the first people your customers are interacting with before seeing the vet. They should be trained on how to do their job. Let's recommend a special food that you can buy at Petsmart (Banfield Hospital), but not give you the prescription you need to buy it when leaving. So I called them back to request a fax to be sent to the hospital so I can purchase the food. I called twice and spoke with a different person each time. After waiting an hour - it appeared that it was not coming.
I spent over $200 to run tests to diagnose a problem with my cat and had to jump through hoops to get the test results back. The vet never called me back to explain the results. I simply had to spend more $$$ for an office visit. They were unable to find out what was wrong with my cat. His back leg stopped working and it was dragging. I was upset and called to explain that I had financial trouble and felt like I had been taken advantage of. After that, it seemed like they genuinely understood my concern and offered to help by waiving the fee for my next office visit.
When I went to take them up on their offer - it was declined. I'm sorry, but there should not be an expiration date on a free office visit even if its only 10 days afterwards. They don't care about you, or your pets. just your money. Most vet/animal clinics are like this sadly but I did not have a good experience with them. I only went here because I lived in Painesville as a child and my parents always brought our pets there.
My dogs have always received excellent care. I had a Lab that had many health problems. The Vets always treated us with such kindness and never sugar coated anything. My other dog was hit by two cars and they helped me find a specialist for her visual problems. I have been with these vets for my personal dogs for over 20 years. My parents have been with them for over 35 years with their pets. No frills in the office just good care for the animals.
The receptionists out front were very cold and unprofessional. They completely ignored me when I was ready to check out. The doctor was extremely nice and thorough, he was very gentle with my dog and very helpful. I am, however, considering avoiding this place in the future because of the receptionists.
We have been going here for over 25 yrs....they are the most caring loving group of vets and ladies ...they are wonderful, compassionate and treat people wonderful... we have had to put several pets down and they are sooo compassionate with dealing of the loss....they even said after I was emotional....it's such a relief dealing with small hometown people that are wonderful and take the time to get to know you and your pets
