Needs to be shut down. It's a revolving door where patients are held against their will with a 24+ hour plus wait to see a county shrink for 5 minutes before being sent home in cab with a $5K bill. They either trick you or force you to sign a financial responsibility form with threats of holding you longer for "resisting treatment". The whole 5150 thing is a scam in order to bill insurance roughly $150,000 per day for non-existent services. The conditions are unsanitary and dangerous. I personally witnessed one woman with a seizure disorder suffer a compound fracture and go into shock because the staff let her perform calisthenics unsupervised. The response of the so-called medical staff was to call 911 for paramedics to transport her to the real hospital across the street.

There is a Hell on Earth, and it's called SCV Emergency Psychiatric services.

I stood 9 hours in a jail... I meant, in a "waiting room"... It's like a jail... Actually, let me rephrase it: it's worse than a jail because at least in a jail you will be alone. Here you are surrounded by a troop of loons calling you names and laughing histerically, all while having avery convenient and educative Jerry Springer show running on TV.

The only good thing I got from this horrible experience was the thought that if I had been able to get over it, I was able to get over anything.

Amd now the automatic review:

Everything I told them seemed to go in one ear and out the other. I didn't feel like they cared about what I had to say at all. I've never seen a provider look so unprofessional. They obviously do not care about their appearance here because they looked like slobs. I was very uncomfortable with the amount of foul language they used. I wish they had been more professional. Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there. There was lots of available parking at their office. I was glad that I didn't have to drive around looking for parking.

I was brought in here on Wednesday August 28th, around 12:00 in the afternoon. I waited in the waiting room

The mental health urgent care advertises that it has a psychiatrist on duty, and it is walk in.

When I walked in, they informed me that there was NO psychiatrist on duty, and there was no way I could be seen.

It also felt more like a jail waiting room than any place where you could get "care"

I am a seventeen-year-old Asian girl. I had a small panic attack outside my house and while I was calling my sister to calm me down and take me to my therapist, the cops came, detained me, and forced me into the car and drove me to SCVM. There, they put me in a lockdown hold room for over 8 hours before I saw a psychiatrist. They wouldn't let me go out and only grudgingly let me go to the bathroom with an escort. The people in the lobby were frightening: they screamed and made violent motions towards me. The staff did little to intervene. Moreover, the psychiatrist, a South Asian woman in her early 40s, was hostile, mean, and yelled at me until I cried. She only saw me for around 10 minutes before she diagnosed me and wanted to force me on medication. She threatened to have me stay there for three more days if I didn't accept her diagnoses I have depression and a severe anxiety disorder. This is no way to treat a person, let alone someone who is mentally ill and a minor. My condition worsened considerably in there, and I wanted to kill myself for weeks after my experience. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
