The SSA sent me to Dr. Johnson for an independent evaluation. I was not happy that SSA was re-evaluating whether I qualified for SSI after seven years in the program. I was scared and angry and resented having to see yet another psychological professional when I already had oodles of paperwork.
Dr. Johnson and I spent two or three hours together that day, and I still remember thinking that he was as good as any other private practice provider I had encountered. He was very patient and the IQ tests were way harder than I remembered them being when I was a young, but I had an enjoyable time.
That was several years ago, and today I am requesting copies of the report Dr. Johnson wrote for SSA as part of the documentation I have to keep to make my ABLE account legal.
Despite being paid by the feds, his determination was quite helpful both with my SSI review and now this ABLE account.
