They put my friends cat's life in jeopardy and did not even call her back for 5 1/2 hours after the kitties mass burst. Then when she called after waiting 5 1/2 hours Dr Updike was rude to her and basically called her a liar. Those 5 1/ 2 hours were precious time she could have used to find a caring vet. I am shocked by the doctor's lack of compassion.

SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE!
My cat has a cancerous mass that has started to ulcerate and needs to be removed. She was diagnosed at UofI, and they recommended leaving the mass alone until and if it ulcerated. Today, when I called Rantoul Veterinary Clinic, I was told they would check with the doctor and call me back. FIVE AND A HALF HOURS LATER, they had still not returned my call, so I called them. "Oh, doctor has your message, he's just very busy." 20 minutes after that, I received a voicemail message from a very disinterested Dr. Updike, essentially calling me a liar (he said, "I highly doubt the U of I would tell you not to remove the mass"), and informing me that I owed them $40, so I should take my business elsewhere. Very nice. You wasted my entire afternoon, when I could have been FINDING another vet for my cat, so you could insult me and refuse care to a sick animal. When you become oncology specialists, let me know. Even better, when you learn to value an animal over a purported $40 bill (never received), let me know.

I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned they are for my well-being. Their advice is always wonderful and completely unbiased. They were one of the kindest, most caring staff I've ever dealt with. It didn't matter how many times I called with a question or concern, they were always happy to help me. I am always so impressed with how quickly my calls are answered here. I am never put on hold for a long time and love knowing that if I have a quick question I won't have to wait a half hour through terrible music to get it answered. They had some of the best pricing I have ever seen. It even seemed to be a little under what other veterinarians in the area charge, so needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded.
