I am a prior employer of this facility. I have worked and other long-term care and skilled nursing home facility is as well.
It was sent in the community that this nursing home was far better than other facilities locally.
Unfortunately from what I observed while there this is definitely not true. At least 40 to 50% of their residence have UTIs. That's a common occurrence there. It's a huge problem as well as staffing, employee retention, employee showing up on time or showing up at all, nurse and CNA ratio to resident or patient ratios.
Even their ability to stock linens for every shift as needed and supplies is faulty.
This facility really needs to take a hard look in fast who is running it, why and all the things wrong with it.
I personally witnessed residents being medicated to keep them quiet and as they didn't have enough staff to ambulate these people when they would want to get up and walk and move around. They would do this under the guise of it's behavioral acting out behavior. But those of us that are true professionals in the healthcare industry know better. It's not only on ethical but it's illegal to medicate a person like that just to keep them quiet and more passive. It's not only sick it's a sin and a great injustice.
Perhaps the CEOs and DON's should consider giving up the company provided vehicles, sulfones and service for themselves and their families? Hire the proper staff already!
People who want to work, or willing to work, who show up to work on time. And people in general was good ethics and strong morals!
If unchanged I feel that this facilities future is very uncertain. Personally I wouldn't send my pet there for permanent placement. I'm not kidding it's that bad.
Don't believe me? Walk through each unit upon visitation and notice the strong urine odor on many and most of the units. It's not only because these people are incontinent - it's because those who are are not cleaned up and provided the proper hygiene and care in a timely manner.
Sad - very sad to see this kind of activity and behavior still going on today.

I had a knee replacement and went there for PT. I often get UTI's after surgery and I did this time, it showed up the 2 nd day I was there. I pleaded for antibiotics and they said that my urin had to be sent out to be cultured. When I visit my Doc for this cronic problem she gives me antibiotics and sends out for a culture and when the culture is back she adjusts the meds if necessary. I was in agony and by day 3 I was totally incontonent. Here is the unbelievable part, I asked them for a depends or even a panty liner and they said no, because I came there to get better and I didn't need anything like that upon arrival and how would it look in a chart because I had been brought there to progress not regress. I could not believe my ears! I hung in for 2 or 3 more days with no meds I had my husband smuggle me in supplies. I think it was day 4 or 5 that I finally left AMA. The very next morning I went to my Dr. and she could not believe it either. She did the basic dip test that they do in the office lit up like a Christmas tree I was feeling 100% better after 1 day on meds. 4 days later I got a call at home from Baptist saying I had a bladder infection and should have stayed so I could be properly medicated! They Suck. I have severe Rheumatoid arthritis and have had a minimum of 15 hospital stays and I have always been satisfied. I'm not the type of person that complains. I'm having my other knee replaced next month and I will never go there again for anything. You guys should have negative stars!

I have been searching the internet for over an hour trying to find a way to contact a manager, CEO, director or some kind of personnel in "corporate" and can not find one piece of information. My grandmother was admitted to this nursing home approximately a month ago. She has been suffering with Alzheimer's disease for almost 10 years now and it has become beyond our family's capability to give her the care she needs. Our family had heard nothing but good things about Baptist and felt confident placing her there. Were we ever wrong. When she was initially admitted, she was evaluated and they told us she had a "drop foot" and was placed in an AFO (ankle foot orthotic) which has severely hindered her walking capabilities. In the past month that she has been there, she has fallen 3 times, one of them resulting in a fractured foot. Last night a family member went to visit her and she was in a community room with no one that had the ability to communicate with her and no teeth (my grandmother was MORTIFIED). My family member bent down to kiss her and realized that she smelled terrible. Upon bringing my grandmother back to her own room, it was found that she had completely soiled herself and was not wearing the proper undergarments. We called for an aide who helped my grandmother get to the facilities and then said she would be right back. She never returned. After returning to the room and trying to find some clean clothes, it was discovered that everything in her dresser had not been folded but simply just "tossed" in there. We then told the nurses that my grandmother was not feeling up to eating in the dining room and she would be eating her room, they said that was fine. However, they never brought her dinner.

This was obviously an extremely hard decision to make to have her admitted here, and to find out that she isn't being taken care of is totally heartbreaking. I understand that sometimes facilities are short staffed and other problems arise, but in one month, she has declined so much that it is scary. While I understand declination in her health is going to be natural, it has happened way too fast and the care that she has received is 100% unacceptable. I am VERY disappointed in this facility.

I am not happy with the care that my Mom has been receiving. She is 91 years old, smart as a whip, expert quilter, tailor, creative in every way and she is not being well taken care of.
She has congestive heart failure, has been on diuretics (Lasix) for over a year and her medication for this was stopped on June 9th. She needed to be seen by the doctor of the facility and was scheduled the 10th. It is NOW the 25th of June and STILL NO diuretic and NO doctor visit. Now her legs are swelling. I can just imagine what is happening to her lungs...No one read the chart or followed up on this!!!! I am so upset with this you have no idea. This could bring about her death if not handled immediately. Her oxygen was suppose to be set at 4 and was set at 2. It has since been corrected but...
Doesn't anyone at this facility check the charts of the patients?
These are human beings that deserve the best of care. We have not walked in their footsteps so we don't know the hard times they had to face and the good times that they had and the influence they had on others.
Thank goodness my brother is there and has made his complaints known.
If this is going on with my Mom - what else is going on with other people? Is this the tip of the iceberg?

I am sorry to say this was the worst place I could have sent my mother after a stroke. She almost died in their care of neglect. The staff acted as if everything was a bother for them to help her. The staff spent more time sitting at the desk then helping the patients. My mom had a feeding tube and they never provider her with fluid. After the first few days at the Baptist her recovery went down hill. After 2 weeks she was rushed to the hospital because she was severelly dehydrated and was almost in a coma. The physician at the hospital had said they had called the Baptist and had told them to provide her a certain amount of liquids which they said they were doing. Apprantely they lied. There are much better nursing facilities available in the area. If you have a choice you should try another one
