I visited this provider in November for a cleaning and a consultation.

His hygienist spent 20 minutes "cleaning my teeth",

He came in and asked me if any of my teeth hurt, I replied "no"-- and he left.

Both he and his hygienist do a schlock job. They charged my HMO for a full cleaning and consultation and did not provide either.
My adult daughter had visited this provider in past years-- she stated that her "teeth were not clean" when she left-- neither were mine.

I found out later that the Dentist only "permits" his LICENSED HYGIENIST 30 minutes to do a Cleaning? That is against all Dental Procedural, and she should lose her license for complying if she is NOT doing her job.

If you want to keep your teeth healthy, you keep your gums healthy also-- the only way to do that is to get a good cleaning at least every 6 months and practice good hygiene at home. But if your dentist and hygienist do not do their part--- you have no chance of keeping your teeth.

This Provider gets most of his money by doing bad work-- then, when you lose your teeth-- he gets the money for making bridges, Porcelain Veneers, and Dentures.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. He is all about the MONEY, not the profession!

My husband had an appointment with Dr. Lawrence at his Port Jefferson location in March 2012. I told the staff when I set up the appointment that my husband has very sensitive teeth, that we would only be going for a consultation to see what needed to be done, and set up appointments for dental work from there.
We got there and the doctor made us feel very rushed. He took my husband back while I stayed in the waiting room to fill out paper work. He was back there for a few minutes for the "consultation" where Dr. Lawrence was very rough and caused a lot more pain than was necessary. Dr. Lawrence briefly explained what needed to be done, but using dentist jargon that my husband didn't fully understand, not in a way that a Doctor should speak with a patient.
When they came back up front I asked what should take priority as we knew going in that there was quite a bit of work that needed to be done. The doctor replied with some short and rude non-answer and walked away.
I left the office infuriated. Decent people do not treat other people that way, much less a Doctor treating a patient that way. It was completely ridiculous and we decided never to go back there again.
To top it off, I received a bill in the mail THIS WEEK almost a YEAR LATER. They didn't submit the claim until January 2013. If it had been submitted in a timely manner it would have been completely covered by my insurance.
I do not recommend this Doctor to anyone.
We decided to go with Dr. Snehal Sheth, who is very gental and always makes sure you're comfortable.

One thing that's. It is so refreshing to see a provider that you can tell truly cares about their appearance. But the assistant smelled like a ash tray, obviously she had just smoked The music was rock which I found not sothing at all. I would never go back i have called them on several occasions in regards to my pre determinatin that I have recieved, They didnt even send xrays, AHH hello u dont know this>? When I called back and spoke with someone she was very rude told me office manager or biller was not in, Ok I gave them the benefit of the doubt ,,called bck for the next five days left messages,,STILL NO PHONE call back! SO unproffestional! Funny thing is there is a sign in the office that says if u r not happy with anything let us know,, refferal is everything,,some sort to that,,oh yeah? im thinking well if you would get yr stuff together maybe people wouldnt be writting bad comments,,plus I left confused, Dr. didnt tell me anything besides we will put in for insurance,,ahh ok so do I have cavities? nothing,,,POOR MANORISM,,and didnt even send xrays to insurance to getan approval..hello they need to see what needs to b done!only good thing is My appointment started on time, and the wait was much shorter than other offices I have been to.
