Run the other way. My son and I waited 52 minutes past our appointment time before the assistant came out to the waiting room. After discussing my son's dental problems in the waiting room, which I thought was inappropriate, the assistant stated I was not allowed in the back with my son. I told her I didn't feel comfortable with that, I wanted to accompany my son. This was his first time at this dental office. She stated this was office policy, parents are not allowed back with their children. My son is only 6.
We left.

My first visit to Dr. Milo was when my toddler chipped his front tooth. I called to see if they could accept an emergency visit, they said to come in at 1:00. I arrived ten minutes early and stood unnoticed at the reception desk until 1:00. I waited for over an hour before he was seen. In the meantime we were scolded by the doctor's wife because he was becoming restless (he was one and a half!) We went back for my 4 year old's first visit, figuring that the first time was a long wait due to the last minute nature of the visit. I was incorrect. We again waited over an hour to be seen. My son had a cavity and they recommended a silver filling. When I expressed concerns about the mercury, four people told me that there was nothing to be worried about. I told them that we would go with the white filling and they're response was that it would be more expensive and that the tooth was going to fall out anyway. I can't believe that with the latest research regarding mercury that they would COMPLETELY dismiss my concerns. Even the FDA says that there isn't enough research to say if they are safe for kids under 6. Their records aren't digital and they charge $50 to create a copy. My experience was that this practice was not kid friendly and that they are not up to date with the latest medical advances. We will not be going back and I would not recommend them.

Their staff is very friendly and professional, however, I found Dr. Milo to be condescending and rude. My three year old son sat in the dental chair and behaved well enough for a complete set of x-rays, cleaning, and dental exam. Afterwards, Dr. Milo wanted him to sit down in the chair to show me his teeth. When my son refused, Dr. Milo threatened to hold him down. I convinced my son to sit in the chair on his own, but he became very frustrated and began to act out. Dr. Milo yelled at my son and threatened to take away the gold coin my son had earned for being so good during his cleaning and x-rays. I called the office later to discuss the situation with Dr. Milo. He proudly admitted to yelling at my child, and basically told me my son deserved to be treated in this manner. Dr. Milo said my child's behavior was not normal, and I needed to discipline him. Funny thing is, I have a written report card that states how good he was during his cleaning and x-rays. When we left the room with Dr. Milo and returned to the front desk, my son was his normal well-behaved self.

Such a horrible first visit for my 4 year old (and me!) Long wait to be seen for appointment and I observed at least 5 other children called back. Not one staff person greeted or "chit-chatted" with the kids. When we were called, I was told my daughter had to go without me. I informed them that she was only 4 and this was her first visit ever. They said, "Didn't you get the parent info sheet in the mail that explains this?" When I answered no, the receptionist called out from behind the desk, "She's Medicaid...we don't send them out to them." I couldn't believe it! I was told I could not even walk her back to look at the cleaning area together. The hygienist(?) never once got down on my child's level or spoke to her during this until she finally said, "Mommy can't go everywhere with you...you're a big girl. Even 3 year olds do this by themselves."
