Dr. Rhea is one of the best Pediatricians I have come across and we sorely miss going to him. We would gladly drive over an hour to be apart of his practice. He uses common sense and medicine together making sure every patient has the best personal care. One of the best things about him is he isn't in a rush, he listens and observes intently. You feel very well cared by this physician and we were blessed to be a patient of his.

Dr. Rhea, and why are you a pediatrician at all? We had a 9 month old check up appointment scheduled with this office and were 10 mins late - I had to feed the baby before the appointment, which seams to make sense to everybody except Dr. Rhea. When I called them to say we are running 10 mins late we were told not to bother coming in at all because they are now considering us a "no show", moreover, when I asked to reschedule they said they WILL NOT, because this child is now sort of on their black list and they will not schedule another appointment for her ever! And we were going to be a self-pay customer, by the way. I guess they don't care for our money... So now thanks to these "doctors" my 9 month old missed her physical and will not have one for several months, since other docs in the area are booked for several months in advance for physicals. One of my friends takes her baby to this insane office and says that the docs are NEVER on time. Even with a sick child with a fever they make them sit fully undressed in the exam room for 1 hour before the doc finally shows up! So what's the point refusing to see a child for being 10 mins late??? This same friend told me that her baby had a bad diarrhea and when she showed up 10 mins late, they refused to see her and told her to come back the next day. Dr. Rhea, do you know that dehydration from diarrhea is a #1 cause of death in babies in the world? This baby could have died, but your "policies" are a priority to you. The child's well being should be the #1 "policy" in the pediatrician's office! But with Dr. Rhea and Dr. Greene in Pediatric Consultants West it is NOT! Dear mommies and daddies, please, take you children somewhere else!!

We have been going to Dr. Rhea for 7 years & actually had a much better experience when he was located in the Kroger Medical Park. Since he has moved, we have had nothing but problems. Part of the problem is the office manager. She has been extremely rude to my husband on several occasions. You can't call and reach a live person; you are having to leave a message on a machine and hope someone calls you back quickly. Last year my son was sick and when we went for our appointment, the PA wanted to do a strep test but they didn't have them in the office. WHAT? What pediatrician doesn't have strep tests. So, we went to an outside lab. When the results came in, Dr. Rhea's office didn't call us with results. We called them and they said "Oh, yeah, those came in yesterday. Your son does have strep" Again, WHAT!! My son was delayed getting his antibiotic because the office staff dropped the ball. This year, my son stepped on a nail and when we called Dr. Rhea's office to get a tetanus shot, we were told that they don't carry tetanus shots and referred us to the Emergency Room. That ER visit cost $1000 (fortunately billed to insurance), but it was completely unneccesary. I have never heard of a Dr.'s office that doesn't carry the tetanus vaccine. Needless to say, we are going to find another pediatrician.
