Rude and condescending. He proceeded to tell me in front of his staff that my referral request to another provider was becasue I didn't know better what type of doctor I needed to say. This also violates HIPPA as he said 2 different issues I was treating for in public. I will never return to him.

Arrogant, rude, condensending, disagreeable.. Can you believe I am talking about a Dr? I walked out of his office muttering "What just happened?" This was my only visit to Dr. Shapiro.

His staff apologized to me telling me he had a bad day, but it was only 10:00 AM.

When I requested my medical records be transferred to a new Dr. I was told all my previous records were thrown away and they had no legal obligation to save records from my previous long term Dr. that had retired. It was only 10 days since my visit to Dr. Shapiro that I requested the records be transferred.

I just can't believe that a Dr. can be so awful. And I am as easy of a guy as there is to get along with.
I left his office a mental wreck, didn't think it was possible.

Oh well!! That's life!

I am not going to go into detail but all I can say is worst doctor ever. I wish I could give less than one star. He got in my face and yelled at me, and then insisted on bringing his staff in while he yelled at me. I started paper work to file a complaint with the board but never followed through. I probably should so that no one else has to deal with him. Stay away!!

Nature of Complaint:

The physician has been the subject of disciplinary action in another state.

Action Taken:

The Osteopathic Medical Board of California has Revoked the physician's license to practice osteopathic medicine and surgery in the State of California. The revocation has been Stayed and the physician has been placed on Probation for a period of five years subject to various probationary terms and conditions.

They are WAY overbooked and the staff is clearly overworked and not always that pleasant. They seem to be more concerned about quantity of business over quality. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. Every time I've called and left a message, I've never heard back. It's extremely annoying. Worst Dr. I've ever been to in my 54 yrs. Once my x-rays were given to him, within 3 days a mail delivery came to my house with my records refusing me to be his patient with no explanation at all. Needless to say the next Dr. I found, been with 13 yrs. now, from the x-rays that were given to my current Dr., I have a very bad case of scoliosis with spondalitis with MS diagnosed as well. After following all of Shapiro's rules and regulations this so called Dr. released me. I did nothing wrong. From the get-go he seemed to be a little disorientated to say the least, afraid to give out prescriptions as if he had been disqualified in his past. I do NOT recommend this person to be your Dr. and if you do...good luck to you, 'cause your going to need it! Very unprofessional, not only office, staff but especially him.
