I have never met a doctor that treated me so poorly. The doctor actually yelled at me and got in my face. This is no exaggeration. I have been seeing him for a couple years now and started to notice him seem withdrawn and to not really care about me as a patient. I went in for some concerns and asked questions and he completely came unglued. I left the office in tears request my medical records and let them know I would never come back. I could write a lot more about what happened but I am actually going to be writing a formal complaint with the board. Please take precaution when looking for a new doctor.

This is hands down the least professional doctor I have ever been to. He makes you wait 30 + minutes. I even scheduled to be the first patient of the day and it still took 35 minutes before he saw me. To add insult to injury, only when he finally entered the room did he start to review my information, staring completely at his lap top. I asked questions but he ignored me.

Unprofessional dress, which would be a matter of taste except that he doesn't give the look of a clean person.
Does not listen well. Told him my former doctor had been refilling my prescriptions for a year +. He said that was impossible. (??) I later discovered he thought I was saying he himself had been refilling my prescriptions. Thus, the not listening part. And he was hostile in manner like I was a liar.

They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there. They didn't help me as much as I was hoping and didn't answer all my questions. I found the office, but only because I had simple, very clear directions. I wish it had been easier to locate. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed.

There is a saying a first impression is a lasting impression and it wasn't a good impression. I sprained my ankle from a hiking accident in January 2002. I called his assistant/manager and she turned out to be a real witch. I don't remember what I said to her that set her off and at one point she hung up on me for reasons I'll never understand. When I called back, she threatened to terminate my account so I swallowed my pride and apologized even though I did nothing wrong. I believe she took advantage of the fact that since my mobility was limited, she could take advantage of me however she saw fit. When things settled down, I had my appointment with Dr. Shapiro. He asked me what I do for a living. I told him I was taking film classes at Scottsdale Community College and he got rude with me telling me I was making a mistake not taking classes in Los Angeles. As soon as I was able to change my provider from Cigna to United Healthcare, I changed physicians. This office's bedside manner gets an F in my book.
