Christopher J. DiMaio, MD is a member of Northwell Health Physician Partners Gastroenterology and is the Regional Director of Endoscopy.He is an interventional endoscopist and a nationally recognized expert in the care of patients with complex pancreatic and biliary diseases, pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, Barrett's esophagus, complex colon polyps, benign and malignant obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, and post-operative complications such as fistulas, leaks, and strictures. A significant portion of his practice is dedicated to the management of benign and malignant pancreatic disease, including pancreatitis, pancreatic cancers and cysts, and pancreatic fluid collections/pseudocysts/necrosis.Dr. DiMaio is a frequent speaker at national and regional GI meetings, has more than 100 scientific publications in high-impact journals, and has served on numerous committees for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He is a Past President of the New York Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy (NYSGE). Prior to joining Northwell, Dr. DiMaio served in a number of leadership positions with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Catholic Health.Services
