I'm trying to schedule an appt. I am a veteran and have to go outside of network for an urgent appt. The program Veterans Choice, which is for veterans, pays for our medical care. The insurance person there has the authorization information, however, she is giving me such a hard time. I had a stroke on April 20th, and after being released from the hospital was told I need to schedule a neurology appt to be seen within the next couple of weeks. Due to the VA not having anything available until the middle of July, they referred me to the Veterans Choice program. Now, this insurance coordinator is telling me, even tho she has this info, I may still have to pay $250 if she doesn't receive the same info I gave her from the veterans choice rep. This is ridiculous! My appt is June 1st and I am more stressed now because of this situation with this coordinator. The info has been faxed, but the office hasn't received it, due to the times the faxes are sent. I know that some people try to get over, but wow, she has the information needed and still giving me a hard time. I'm a veteran, where is the respect and loyalty!
