Growing up with toxic, addicted or narcissistic parents can have a lifelong impact on self esteem, confidence and security. I help adults who were not parented well develop a deep sense security within themselves. Clients learn how to protect themselves from further emotional abuse in their adult lives. They learn to set effective and respectful limits with others. They transform their inner critical voices into protective inner allies. They increase their ability to soothe themselves in healthy ways, reducing the need for substance or process addictions to alleviate tension. And they begin to cherish and love themselves in they ways they needed, but didn't get, as kids.
