About
Joanne Baum, Dr.
I focus on 3 often overlapping areas: 1) Substance Abuse, 2) Divorce Coaching\/Marriage Counseling and 3) Trauma utilizing Brainspotting
In Substance Abuse I provide: Evaluations, Consultations for best fit treatment options, Interventions, Couples and Family Work, Personalized Recovery Plans, Continuing Care (individual, couples, family and group), Recovery from Codependence, and Trauma work for relapse prevention.
With Divorce Coaching we go over divorce alternatives, and I provide individualized divorce coaching for meeting needs to communicate more effectively, co-parent, get rid of trauma triggers, develop a parenting plan that works for your whole family, decision making ideas, learning to be better co-parents, and reduce the overall stress and tension so your family can adjust to living in two loving homes. I am also trained as a Mediator, Collaborative Law Professional, and Early Neutral Evaluation team member.
Marriage Counseling with the goal of creating a more compatible and enjoyable relationship.
Unresolved "Big T trauma" and"Little t trauma" is often behind a lot of what blocks you and affects you negatively - your relationship with your self and other significant people in your life. It can interfere with your: marriage, divorce process, parenting, work, friendships, serenity, and sobriety. There are a number of different theories and techniques for resolving Trauma. Brainspotting, with its exquisite Resourcing, is a very effective set of mind and body techniques to resolve trauma, phobias, accidents, feeling and being "stuck," and chronic pain. Brainspotting appears to create new neural pathways in the brain allowing you to get out of the old ways of being stuck and creating "New Truths" which allow you to behave and respond differently to old triggers and new circumstances.
