Update to the review September 11, 2014. It appears impossible to edit previous reviews, so count this as the edit.

The Chief Administrator of the facility contacted the family very soon afterwards to explain what steps they were taking. They also had video of the fall and could show it happened less than a minute before discovery. On return from the hospital, our loved one was put in a more secure wheelchair that would not tip. The Chief Administrator also has made every effort to address all the concerns that the family had.

As a result this family wants to amend its initial review to take into account the very proactive way in which the facility is trying to improve.

We found our loved one lying face down on the floor, in the hall, with a wheelchair on top of him. There were staff all around but no one was doing anything to help until we called them. He was strapped into the chair which is very heavy. He had a large contusion on his head and had to be transferred to the ER and then was admitted to the hospital for more tests to make sure he did not have any further injuries. We cannot recommend this nursing home. The staff are often rude and even though they seem to be everywhere you can rarely find someone to help when needed. They deserve minus stars.
