FIRST OFF... THE RECEPTIONIST WHO ANSWERED MY CALL WAS VERY VERY RUDE. I WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THO MY DAUGHTER IS SICK TODAY, WITH A POSSIBLE UTI... THAT DR. DEDWYLDER WOULD NOT SEE HIS NEW PATIENTS TILL AFTER DECEMBER 13TH AND INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE HER TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS... WE HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR 3 WEEKS NOW TO GET AN APPT WITH DR. DEDWYLDER AND EACH TIME WE CALL THAT DATE MOVES FURTHER BACK. SO NOW WERE ON THE 13TH. MY DAUGHTER HAS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND A THYROID PROBLEM IN WHICH SHE IS MEDICATED FOR BOTH. WE CALLED 3 WEEKS AGO TO GET HER IN WITH THIS DR. AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TO CALL US BACK. THAT CALL NEVER HAPPENED. OVER THE COURSE OF 3 WEEKS WE CONTINUED TO CALL AND WAS TOLD THE SAME STORY. SO HERE WE ARE NOW. MY DAUGHTER HAS 2 DAYS WORTH OF MEDICATION AND STOMACH PAINS. SO WERE TOLD MY DAUGHTER HAS TO WAIT TILL AFTER THE 13TH TO BE SEEN AND EVEN THEN SHE GOES ON A WAITING LIST IN WHICH THE RECEPTIONIST TELLS ME "WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD". I REMIND HER THAT I HAVE LIVED IN THE REAL WORLD FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH AN ISSUE. NOT EVEN FROM THE CLINICS ON MILITARY BASES ( WHO BTW SEE HUNDREDS OF PPL PER DAY EVEN WITH LIMITED RESOURCES). WHEN I TELL HER THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE SHE THEN REMINDS ME THAT DR. DEDWYLDER DID NOT ASK FOR ME AND MY DAUGHTER TO BECOME HIS PATIENTS. THAT IN FACT HE WAS JUST KINDA STUCK WITH US AS A RESULT OF OUR PCM MOVING PRACTICES. NEWS FLASH! WE DIDN'T EITHER! WE WERE STUCK WITH HIM WHEN OUR PCM LEFT KING GEORGE MEDICAL. SHE THEN TELLS ME IF I DON'T LIKE THESE POLICIES I CAN TAKE MY FAMILY ELSEWHERE WHICH IS WHAT I PLAN TO DO ON TOP OF THE GRIEVANCE I AM FILING WITH BOTH PRATT MED CTR AND TRICARE. THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING TO THIS DR. HE MAY BE A GOOD DR. I DON'T KNOW. I CANT GET PAST HIS RECEPTIONIST. I CANNOT IN GOOD CONSCIOUS GO SEE THIS DR. AND BELIEVE ME I AM DOING THE RECEPTIONIST A PUBLIC SERVICE BY NOT WALKING INTO HIS OFFICE. I HIGHLY DOUBT I COULD WALK IN HIS OFFICE WITHOUT PULLING HER BY HER HAIR OVER THE COUNTER. SORRY FOR THE CAPS PPL BUT I AM MAD AS HELL. IF THESE PPL CANNOT HANDLE APPOINTMENTS IN A TIMELY MANNER HOW THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO HANDLE YOUR HEALTHCARE. CALLED ANOTHER PCM IN FREDERICKSBURG. GOT MY DAUGHTER IN A S A NEW PATIENT TOMORROW. SO DON'T TELL ME SAME DAY APPTS OR APPTS WITHIN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME IS NOT POSSIBLE.
