I searched for a long time within my network to choose a dentist. Dr Morris seemed to be highly educated and professional. Upon my first check up visit I was happy with the service I received. Dr Morris was kind and the staff are friendly and accommodating. However on two seperate occassions when I actually had to get some work done, I had to be referred to a "specialist".
Most recently I was advised by Dr. Morris that a root canal was required and I was referred to a specialist. At the time I asked the assistant why this was necessary and I was told that it was a "tricky" tooth and they may not have certain instruments to complete the procedure. I was in excruciating and pain and had to wait for an entire week to be seen by the specialist. After waiting another 24 hours I called the other doctor to see if I could get in any early. The receptionist was very nice and was able to squeeze me in the very next day- however within 30 minutes called me back to confirm this appointment was only for a consult and she couldn't guarantee the root canal would be done. In addition to this the consult was going to cost me $43.00 and the actual root canal would be $360.00. On top of this Dr Morris was going to charge over $200.00 for my crown.
After all this furstration I decided to look for another dentist again within my network- I was able to get seen that very day and have my procedure completed- TOTAL cost was $180.00!!! My new dentist said it was a straight forward root canal nothing tricky about it!
I feel I was completely mislead. As a patient I trust the provider and their recommendations however this has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I have come to the conclusion that doctors/medicine is just another business looking to make a profit on our expense!!
