Dr. McAdam did my lower back fusion 10 years ago and I have never had any issues with it. I am going back to him for the upper spine region and would not trust any other doctor with a surgical procedures involving the spinal cord. Even if he doesn't hold the knife I trust he will be right beside the doctor who will!

Outsourced from the VA to Doc McAdams. He is the only Neurosurgeon in the Tidewater area that the VA works with since they don't have one in house. Dr. McAdams seems very well experienced, he reviewed my MRI/Xrays for an L4L5 disc protrusion, took the necessary steps to assist me. His offices are clean, well laid out, and comfortable. Wait time for an appointment wasn't very long (Once I got the VA to do their jobs and schedule it). His front desk staff was a bit rough, after the first visit, he informed the staff to request a cortisone shot be approved through the VA for me, it took nearly 10 days with no reply from his staff, nearly two weeks later I called back to see what the status was, and his staff had never sent the request to the VA. The lady I spoke with, Donna, was snotty and made some excuse as to why it wasn't done earlier then hung up the phone on me. I can't judge his entire practice based on one person, but as with anything, expect what you inspect.
