HOW DO WE HELP TO BUILD SELF-ESTEEM IN OUR DAUGHTERS

After raising a daughter who will be 27 in a few weeks. I believe I know the secret to raising a daughter who develops a healthy perception of self.

1. Give her a name she can be proud of an attractive name goes a long way.
2. Tell her she is pretty, like it or not girls need to feel pretty.
3. Tell her she can do anything.
4. Tell her she is smart.
5. Show her a healthy loving relationship, if you can't demonstrate a good relationship then get out of the one your in. If you can only demonstrate an unhealthy, nonsupportive, unloving, disrespectful relationship there is a good chance she will use that as her model for her relationships.....we want to break the cycle.
6. Tell her you love her all the time.
7. Give lots of hugs and kisses.
8. Give her your time and attention, nothing is more important that giving our children time.....we don't need things, we need to parent....and that means give time!!!!any
9. I can say enough about time....it is priceless!!!!
10.Support her in whatever activities she participates in. If you think it's important she will think it's important.
11. Attend PTA meeting, school board meetings, school functions, again what you think is important she will think is important.
12. Finally, remember the most influential person in a childs life is the parent of the same sex.....so remember you will be her first role model and probably her most important!!!
