I find it truly inspiring when I see mainstream media present information on organic conscious and Holistic health minded individuals. Last night, I saw a little television, which is rare for me. My wife was watching 60 minutes. Leslie Stahl had a segment with Alice Waters, who developed the "Slow Food Movement". I have honestly never heard of this woman, despite her incredible influence on food over the last few decades, according to the program.
I was truly moved to tears when I saw her tremendous passion for educating our young generation and what she has accomplished.
She has put together programs for children to learn about composting and the development of vegetable gardens with the intent to change peoples thinking about the food we eat. Her programs not only include the basics of gardening, but teach children how to cook these truly nutritious necessities. It was amazing to see the eyes of the children light up when they expressed their true understanding of the power of healthy, LIVE food. Most children are never exposed to this human reality; live, whole foods from the earth!
Let's face it; the food that the majority of people (our children) eat is terrible! Exposing children to this most important health issue and presenting it to the mainstream is purely revolutionary. We need to change our world by educating our young. We must all stand up and express our true feelings about the state of food in our world! The future of the planet and our children lies in the hands of people with this understanding.
I decided to start Blogging today, because of this 60 minute episode, to support this movement nutritious, live, whole foods; what I stand for and what I have been personally touting for over 20 years.
I hope whoever reads this blog, will also take a stand to learn and share what they know about real, live, whole foods to as many people they can, until our world has changed and free of malnourished children!
