I definitely am not going to refer my family or friends here. I felt Phelps felt himself superior to me and looked down his nose at me even though I'm dealing with my condition the best I can. I felt like he had given up on getting me well after awhile and was saying "maybe this is just what life is going to be like for you" so that he would be able to excuse himself of any responsibility or further effort for finding a treatment that made my symptoms better. Sometimes I wonder how hard he was actually trying in spite of how much I was suffering. The appointments are only 20 minutes (even though he charges like it's an hour's worth), so don't expect any kind of counselling. He is a medication prescriber only, not a full service psychiatrist. If I lost track of time and went over the 20 minutes he would often treat me very poorly. If he's the one in the hurry he should be watching the clock, not me. I always felt very rushed. One time I was in a severe crisis and I went over on time and he was very flippant and disrespectful to me and of my situation. I really questioned how much he cared about my well-being sometimes. I felt he definitely acted unprofessionally sometimes in his condescending or callous attitude toward me. I never treated him in any way to justify that that I can recall. I wonder if he doesn't have some unresolved psychological issues himself. Do yourself a favor, if you have a tough case, or have severe problems and need someone really good, don't go to this guy, he will take your money and not give you the care, respect or support you both pay for and deserve. I feel like if you have minor issues and have never sought treatment from anyone else before, he happens to like you and you don't mind being looked down at, he can possibly get you straightened out.
