Dr Suarez saw my husband many years ago. He was the only doctor, of many, including cardiologists, dermatologists, pulmonologists, and many nurses, who saw my husband for many months, who knew what the sores on his elbows were. Dr Suarz knew immediately they were very deep wounds and needed serious treatment and were caused by my husband's congestive heart failure and lack of circulation to those areas. He was there for an infection, but he was the ONLY medical professional who knew those sores needed treatment, and might have involved bone issues, and because of no diagnosis, had not been properly treated for a long time. The dermatologist checked for cancer and there was none, but otherwise did not know what the issue was early on, even though my husband's heart issues were well documented and in all histories. He was also at the hospital at all hours, when I was there too. Impressive and caring doctor.

I was very happy with Dr Suarez, his consult shared professional insight to help me make better decision for my own health. My white blood cell count was down to 1 due to a rare drug side effect, my body can't fight off any infection on its own. With the help of Dr. Suarez, I was able to walk out of the hospital healthy and happy. I read other people's negative feedback but those were mistake being made with billing or office admin, should not be tagged with Dr. Suarez's personal reference, my personal opinion. Anyway, I highly recommend Dr. Suarez.

This office informed me that they participated with my insurance company prior to scheduling an appointment. If not, I would have consulted with another doctor on my plan. My deductible was met due to prior hospital care and prior doctor visits. I have spent thousands of dollars so far this year due to numerous doctor and hosptal visits. My co-pay for a specialist is $35.00. Upon my arrival with this doctor, my insurance card was copied in adddition to my ID. I consulted with the doctor who obtained a detailed history and listened to my heart and took my blood pressure. There were no x-rays, ultrasounds, blood or urine specimens obtained, EKG, etc.
Prior to leaving the office, I approached the front desk to pay my co-pay amount of $35.00. I was informed that the insurance would be billed and I would be sent an invoice that revealed my financial responsibility. I was a bit surprised especially since I was required to pay only my co-pay of $35.00. Nevertheless, I suspected that they wanted to assure that my deductible was met before I was charged for services.
I was extremely surprised and upset that after approximately 3 months, I was sent a bill for the office visit that was just under $500.00. When I called the office for clarification, I was then informed that they do not participate with my insurance company, have never particpated and that I was reposnsible for almost $500.00 for the office visit and basic examination. When I informed them that I was told that they were participating, I was then informed that it was my word against theirs since they were now informing me that they have never participated with my insurance company and would only be paid by my insurance company if I was hospitalized. I was informed that at best, the doctor may be willing to give me a discount. I have not heard from the office since my initial phone call and have not heard anything regarding a "discount."
They copied my insurance card prior to consulting with the doctor; however, they did not inform me that my health insurance would not reimburse for the office visit and they probably had no intention to inform me that this was the case. Obviously, I was not in a hospital setting and if they were aware that my insurance company would not pay, then they should have informed me. I would have consulted with another physician on my plan if they would have been clear that this was the case and would have gladly paid my $35.00
co-pay. I was misled and misinformed regarding their status with my health insurance company. If they were not particpating and/or if they were aware that my insurance company would not pay since this was not a hospital setting, then they should have informed me prior to my visit and prior to consulting with the doctor.
Unprofessional and misleading to say the least. Almost $500.00 for a consulation and routine exam! You have to be kidding me!!!
