Steck reflects all that is wrong with a business approach to medical care. It appears to be understaffed and the staff are under time constraints. My husband had serious staph complications after surgery and his care required coordination between visiting nurses, the surgeon, the infection control specialist and our primary care physician. The surgeon, infection control specialist, and visitng nurses were not connected to Steck. The people handling the phone at Steck were abrupt and sometimes rude. In three seperate occasions the surgeon, infection specialist or visiting nurse would contact Steck to confer with the primary care physician and would be put through to voicemail and recieve no follow up. We started with our primary care physician a year before he became associated with Steck and the quality of our care has declined each year since he has joined them.
