Dr. Himmler is very knowledgeable, take her time examining and explaining things to you, and helps you get the most out of your hearing devices. I highly recommend her.
I was having major problems hearing lectures and stage performances while wearing a pair of hearing aids I had purchased elsewhere. I had no problem with the volume of the sound, I just couldn't understand what words they were saying. Over a period of months I had brought them back several times to that office's doctor of audiology and she did make some adjustments but never solved my problem. I brought them to Ascent Audiology's Dr. Himmler for a second opinion after receiving an ad in the mail for one week free examination. She gave me the free hearing test then examined my hearing aids. She said one of the pair had 2 wax guards where there should only be one. Then she made some adjustments -- I think she said she broadened the range in the region where my hearing test showed my loss was greatest. Whatever she did, it worked. I was later able to hear al the actors at a performance of a play at my granddaughter's high school.
The folks at Ascent Audiology in Leesburg really understand the importance of taking care of your hearing. They explained everything to me and they really weren't trying to push anything. They recommended and let me decide. If you have a hearing issue, I would definitely check them out.
Linda E. Himler, Au.D. I consulted to evaluate my hearing loss occurring over many years. I had been exposed to a broad range of harmful noises. Having difficulty communicating with my family precipitated my seeking an audiologists opinion on whether or not I was a candidate for hearing aids. I received a thorough evaluation which indicated I had bilateral hearing deficits but in one ear it was consistent with a possible treatable cause and she needed another test to determine this. She referred me to an ENT Specialist who agreed with her finding and performed that test which the Specialist concluded did not show what they believed could be a treatable cause in one ear. This clarification gave Dr. Himler the belief that I could be helped with hearing aids. She discussed the various hearing aids that would best fulfill my needs and I selected the one I felt would do this.
Dr. Himler was very informative regarding my screening results and explained what the results meant with respect to my hearing. It is helpful to meet with such as knowledgeable expert.
Dr. Himler was very helpful in solving a problem with my hearing aids. She was patient and persistent until the problem was solved. We are very glad we found her!
Now I know to go to a real audiology doctor. My Zounds hearing aid did not seem to be working properly. Found out Zounds is not in business anymore. Dr. Linda put me thru a comprehensive exam. I now have my new hearing aids and I am hearing wonderfully without having to adjust them at all. So thankful I found the right Dr.
