It has been an experience. This is the first time for me to leave my house for a long period. I was admitted in JFK for 21 days. I had a really bad infection in my knee which required me to have surgery to clear the infection. I've been admitted in Kindred hospital started January 10, 2017. My first day was difficult, but things did get better. I want to thank Dr. Czyzewski , Dr. Dunn and Dr. Rathnakumar for managing all my medical issues. Felicia who arrange for my discharge and made sure I had all I needed. Maria F (patient rep) was very supportive and a lovable person. Chris ( nurse manager) came over everyday to ensure that everything was going well. I want to thank Ray(pt) and Luella (OT) for teaching me how to walk again. I appreciate what Mitch has done for me. Jessie, Angie, Rene, Sharon, Marie L, Debbie A, Linda (supervisor)and all the others that I can't remember, THANK YOU my very best to all and please continue doing what you do.
My experience at Kindred hospital has been one of the best as hospital goes. Unfortunately, I have spent too much time in them. When my pulmonologist (Dr.Mathews) expressed that he wanted me to come to Kindred, I was extremely skeptical. At that time I was ready to go on hospice, but instead I came to Kindred.
I can't really put into words how great this hospital is. The transition here was very smooth. When I got here everyone was so welcoming and courteous. They really seem to care. As the days went on I was so happy because everybody cared and was willing to help me. Everybody worked as a team. I felt like everybody knew me, so personable. Maria stopped in every day to make sure things were good and going well. The CNA's were so helpful and there wasn't a job that wasn't done with care. One of the day nurses, Mitch was with me for a solid week. He made me look forward to the day. His light heart and caring way brightened my day. He actually made taking my medications fun cause he gave them to me with a smile. One of my night nurses, Josephine also made my night. She came in the room with a smile always and had a warm loving part to her that you could feel.
Although these two individuals made my stay extremely pleasant, I have to compliment the entire Kindred staff that i came in contact with. Terri (pt), Mary & Debbie (RT) and so many others. I would definitely recommend others to come to Kindred. p.s. Dietary is great as well.
When my mother first arrived at Kindred we were very apprehensive. She had been sick for a few months and the family felt she still needed to be in the hospital, but Medicare and insurance has its rules and regulations and want you out ASAP. My mother was upset about being transferred from her comfortable room in another hospital to this smaller room in an older hospital, Kindred Health, in Rahway Hospital, but when we arrived the nurses and CNA's made her feel so loved and a part of their family, that 6 weeks later, when it was time to move on to rehab, she cried like a baby, we all did. The nurses and aides work very hard caring for their patients. Sometimes not getting a chance to eat or go to the bathroom for hours. While I know no place is perfect, I have to say, the nurses, aides, and therapists my mother had were angels, and I will never forget them. Maria F. and Donna the patient representatives were always there if we needed anything. The only negative thing I found was that a few, not all, of the Dr's seemed in a hurry at times, not always, and not all of them. Most were caring, cautious and took great care of my mother. Also, I so appreciate Dr. Rammchandani for taking precautions and ordering extra tests for my mother when she had a complication. Love to all those at Kindred that cared for and made my mother feel loved and special. You know who you are. xoxo
I want to acknowledge RN Mitch and RNA Denise, for the care they provided my cousin. They went above and beyond to provide care with integrity, and utmost professionalism. I was delighted to see her looking and feeling better with just one day of there care. She had a tough journey while there, and there care really stood out for there genuine care and concern. On behalf of our family we thank you wholeheartedly for they way you treated her while in your care. Thank you!
I knew nothing about Kindred Hospital, but I was impressed with the level of service, medical & social. All the staff members that I encounter treated me with respect and handled my issues with alacrity. All levels of staff were superb. I will absolutely recommend this facility to anyone.
Dear Maria, I am writing this review to express my deep appreciation for the care my father received while at Kindred in Rahway. We were extremely fortunate to have my dad transferred to your facility after spending two weeks in intensive care at a nearby hospital. Having no experience with anything such as this in the past, we were very hesitant to have him moved as his condition was very serious. However, this move was in fact the best thing that we could have done. The care was outstanding. The nurses were exceptional. His respiratory therapists were able to get him off the respirator which was a gigantic step forward. Anytime I saw a person touring your facility I invited them in to see my father as an example of the tremendous work that your people accomplished. I often told the doctors and nurses that they performed a miracle. They truly helped bring my father back to life in a way that I was afraid would never happen. My appreciation cannot be measured in words. Please know your efforts and caring was truly exceptional and I am forever grateful to your staff. I made a promise to all of his professionals that we are walking in there as soon as he is 100% recovered and he will shake every persons hand and thank them. Based on your efforts, that day will come a lot sooner than I imagined. Thank you for everything Sandy
I didn't know what to expect coming in however going out I think is a phenomenal place to stay to regain your health again. I would recommend Kindred to anyone. I love the staff.
My wife received fantastic care at Kindred. She entered having undergone open-heart surgery and a major stroke, and when she left a number of weeks later she was breathing on her own, eating, talking, and walking! A true miracle. The staff is great - very caring, kind, and skilled. We were treated like family and I give the hospital my highest possible recommendation. God bless you all at Kindred!
The professionalism and the attention that my husband received in this facility was excellent. The facility was very clean. All the CNA's were excellent especially Cindy and Denise they took great care of my husband like he was his own family. Nursing staff Mitch, Ola and Josephine went above and beyond to provide the utmost medical attention.Respiratory therapist Eriika, Debbie did a great job taking care of my husband. Even though it was not our choice to be in this situation, but everyone at Kindred made this expertience less difficult. Thank you all for doing a great job and may God continue to bless you all.
