I found her to be more concerned with her personal goal of paying off her mortgage before she turned 30 than she was with providing quality patient care. Although the wound was successfully healed and completely closed on 3 or 4 separate occasions, it developed obvious signs of a recurrence of cellulitis and reopened within a week every time. When we expressed our frustration with the cast, both she and her nurse were extremely rude and unprofessional, voicing their anger loudly, in very vulgar language, within earshot of patients. Finally frustrated and angry at her reaction, we sought medical care elsewhere. Within 15 minutes, the new doctor had taken x-rays and confirmed the presence of infection in the bone, something Dr. Haughton had apparently never even considered!
