This company provided medical supplies for my mother for years. Up until recently I would have given them an "A" rating. The supplies were always on time and correct.
HOWEVER, in August 2021, it all went south. They made a business decision to switch delivery options. They no longer delivered to the customer's door. They started delivering via UPS. My mother was getting a month's worth of pull-ups, bed pads and gloves. It was usually 2-3 big boxes of supplies. The supplies were now being delivered three blocks ago at a UPS drop location. (My mother lives in 4-story walk-up. UPS does not walk up the stairs.)
I called Valmar to explain that delivering the three large boxes three blocks from her apartment is not an option because she is 87 years old and homebound. She would not be able to get the boxes and even I would not be able to get the boxes easily.
To matters worse, in this particular month, they delivered the wrong size pull-ups. They delivered xl and my mother is barely a medium. Needless to say, a bigger size in incontinent supplies is not helpful. It only made the situation worse.
I repeatedly called and emailed the office for an immediate delivery of supplies and not by UPS because it would take days and the supplies would not be available after-work hours when I could them pick up.
For more than a week, I called and email and nothing was done. In the end, even after their mistake, they delivered the supplies via UPS which dropped the boxes off at the drop location.
This company serves a vulnerable population that needs medical supplies. They do not consider the needs of their customers in their business decisions. Their decision to change delivery options for a homebound patient (with no advance notice) in this way is irresponsible. I would never do business with them again and I caution anyone who needs these supplies against doing so. I recommend you go elsewhere. This company does not deserve the business.
