On 6/1/20 I contacted Stein Optical for a eye exam. I was informed I would be sent a link to fill out some information prior to arriving. I completed this link and provided my insurance. I then called back Stein Optical to see if I could change by appointment on 6/2/20 from 2:40 p.m. I was unable to at this time I was asked if I have insurance or STATE insurance. I informed them I have insurance and they should know such by looking at my employee. I then gave the receptionist my insurance number again. I then asked for the District Manager phone number and the receptionist stated they probably won't call you back. I then informed the receptionist if she can't locate my insurance I will still pay the $68.00 for a eye exam. I then cancelled my insurance. This receptionist needs a review of what customer service is and to not make assumptions that if someone doesn't have insurance then they are receiving if from the state. If you're reviewing this e-mail I would suggest you go to any other optometrist because obviously this business is more concerned on how they are going to receive payment prior to performing service.
