mailto:Samanthaweezy@gmail.commailto:Samanthaweezy@gmail.comThis is the only dentist that provides hospital sedation and does not strap down kids to work on them . Any bad comments I guess their Medicaid didn’t cover sedation hence the negative comments but if you have any descent insurance hands down this is the best pediatric office as it offers everything from parents staying in room for laughing gas to general sedation in Albany Med Hospital
So today my wife brought our daughter to this dentist on a referral from our normal dentist because our daughter is very scared to recieve Novocain, and get her teeth filled. This is not a family friendly dentist, she lied to my child, she told her she was a brat! What kind of person does this to children, what an unprofessional person, you should be ashamed of yourself. I will continue to write reviews about your business! And judging by the reviews we are not the only ones who have been treated like this
I found the office to be like herding cattle. We had a 9am apt but so did 10 other people. We were the 2nd to check in but ended up being the 6th people seen for the day. The dentist spent less then 30 seconds with each one of my children - neither child felt they had even been at the dentist. When I went to schedule my 6 month appointment I was informed that they do not see children my son's age (5) in the afternoon because the children don't do well at that time and she asked me if I (a mother of 2) had any idea what children were like after they had been in school all day. She then proceeded to tell me to stop arguing with her secretary (which I was not) and if I didn't like the time I was given I could go elsewhere. Well elsewhere is definitely better then being spoken to by a professional the way she spoke to me. And there was not a single person in the office that was happy with the service they were receiving.
This office is really a nice place for kids. It is one of the few offices that still accepts all insurances and does not discriminate against kids on medicaid. Most places i called would even see my kids.Sometimes the office is little busy but i saw when i was there they take walk in emergencies and this is really nice so i dont mind if its a little busy bc one day i may need an emergency appt for my kids. Also i was impressed by the doctors experience with kids and the Dentist/office is part of Albany Medical center so i will definately keep coming back here with my son and three daughters!!
I have a special needs son and he was extremely anxious and scared.Dr.Shali was wonderful with him,the whole team was.My son has another cavity and I wouldn't take him anywhere else to get it filled.
I took my 6 year old disabled daughter here, because she advertised on her website that she had experience with children with special needs. The office was cramped, and extremely loud. The staff were not "in-tune", with each other at all, and I witnessed the DOCTOR register patients and discharge patients because her secretary took her children to lunch. It was all very confusing. When we were finally seen by the doctor she suggested that my daughter have full extraction at Albany Medical Center (we knew this was a possibility so this wasn't surprising). We got everything together and prepared (cardiology letter of release for anesthesia) and insurance approval. Unfortunately, I received a call from the doctors secretary saying that they could not perform the surgery until I payed a $250.00 "Oncall Fee". My daughter is covered by CDPHP Medicaid, through her Social Security and I have never had to pay a surgical fee. When I asked what the fee was for, I was notified that the doctor had to close the office that day and had to be on-call at the hospital and therefore I had to pay for the patients she would miss seeing. When I told her that it wasn't legal for her to charge me that, she told me to contact the insurance company. So I did. The insurance company notified me that NO DOCTOR can charge a patient anything other than what the insurance covers. The insurance company tried to contact the doctor 15 minutes after I spoke with her, and she was sent to an answering service. The doctors office screened the call and would not answer for the insurance company. When I called the doctors office after I got off of the phone with the insurance company, Surprise surprise, they answered. I told them what I had been told, that they couldn't charge me any fee, and the response that I got was "Whatever, we'll wait to hear from the insurance company," and then the call was disconnected. I am very upset about this entire incident, because my daughter does need work done. The insurance company is investigating the matter, but as of now, I'm stuck in limbo. Completely dissatisfied.
I love this office and dentist! They don't strap down kids they even let the kids sit on the parents lap while they are working on the little kids. it's such a kind caring office. the dentist is very skilled and has a lot of experience especially with younger kids and kids with ADD or anxiety . both my 5year old twins had all their fillings done here and have been cavity free now for their last few check ups! My coworker originally referred me here and told me the dentists experience and I'm so happy to find such a great dental office in this area
I am going to refer everyone I know here. I absolutely love this place. The office was easy enough to find. As soon as I walked through the door, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They went out of their way to make me feel special and appreciated. Not only do my appointments never get canceled last minute, they take time out of their day to send me a reminder so I don't forget. They are extremely reliable. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else.
