An abbreviated review of my experience at Dr. Bosler’s office.
As a chiropractor for 45 years, I took my daughter for the treatment of scoliosis because Dr. Bosler’s website states she is certified to treat scoliosis through CLEAR Scoliosis Institute.
CLEAR Institute confirmed she is not certified and is not following their protocols. The initial agreement was that I would perform the spinal adjustments, and she would perform the scoliosis protocols. Dr. Bosler broke that agreement by adjusting my daughter anyway.
She did not follow the CLEAR protocols by using hands-on twisting techniques that CLEAR does not recommend for scoliosis patients. Their protocols call for the use of mechanical instruments instead because adjusting by hand risks further ligament instability present in scoliosis patients.
The therapy assistant positioned my daughter’s spine in the opposite direction, potentially worsening her spinal curvature. Dr. Bosler dismissed my concern. I contacted CLEAR and their instructor was confused by this positioning and said it shouldn’t be done. I was agreed that I would procure any exercise equipment, as I am able to order them at half the retail price, yet the team continued to encourage me to purchase this equipment at full retail cost. On the third visit, I was unable to accompany my daughter, at which time Dr. Bosler informed my daughter that I was no longer welcome in her office, putting my daughter in a very awkward position. After spending over $800 out of pocket for three visits, my money was welcome, but I was not. When discussing my concerns by phone, I shared my daughter’s awkward experience at which time Dr. Bosler said, “You know what? I'm done" and abruptly hung up. I cannot recommend this office due to the serious concerns about certification, protocols, and professionalism.

A full review of my experience
As a chiropractor with 45 years’ experience, I decided to take my daughter to Dr. Bosler’s office since her website states that she is certified to treat scoliosis through CLEAR Scoliosis Institute (CLEAR). During a conversation I later had with CLEAR, they noted that Dr. Bosler “was not certified” and is not following their protocols. During the initial visit, Dr. Bosler and I agreed that as a chiropractor, I would perform the spinal adjustments, and she would perform the scoliosis protocols. Despite our agreement, Dr. Bosler adjusted my daughter, stating it is the protocol of CLEAR that the spinal adjustment take place just prior to the scoliosis treatment. Upon contacting CLEAR they stated, “Adjusting the night before CLEAR treatment should be acceptable. There shouldn’t be a timeframe you need to work within.” Dr. Bosler uses a hands-on adjusting technique to twist the spine (not recommended by CLEAR). CLEAR’s protocols for spinal adjusting “do not involve the chiropractor using his hands to rotate or twist the patient’s head. Rather, advanced mechanical adjusting instruments are performed on the back, hips, and other areas.” The reason is, “most scoliosis patients have ligament laxity/instability that manual adjusting would aggravate. A contraindication of manual adjusting is ligament instability. By using an instrument, it is more effectively moving only one segment instead of aggravating the ligament instability and moving multiple areas.” The technique I have used throughout my career more closely aligns with CLEAR’s protocols than Dr. Bosler’s, yet she would not allow those adjustments as part of the protocol.

On the second visit, Dr. Bosler’s assistant positioned my daughter’s spine in the opposite direction, which was making the curve worse. Upon questioning the assistant, she called Dr. Bosler into the room. The doctor observed my daughter’s position. When I began to ask her a question, she abruptly replied, “Not now.” Dr. Bosler directed the assistant to make corrections, but my daughter was still positioned incorrectly. In a later phone call with Dr. Bosler, she continued to defend the incorrect positioning. Upon contacting a CLEAR instructor, they were “confused why that would be done,” should “not be done on purpose,” and recommended “asking the doctor what the reasoning behind it was.”

It was also agreed that I would purchase any necessary rehab supplies or hardware since, as a professional, I receive them at cost, saving 50+% over what Dr. Bosler’s office charges, yet they continued pushing purchasing rehab equipment from them at retail.

Unable to accompany my daughter for her third visit, Dr. Bosler informed her that she could continue care, but I was no longer welcome in the office. After spending over $800 out-of-pocket for three office visits, my money was welcome in the office, but I was not. My daughter shared this placed her in a very awkward position. In my four and a half decades as a chiropractor, no one was denied access to my office for any reason, whether it was a patient, relative, or guest, especially when simply asked to explain my procedures.

During a phone call with Dr. Bosler, I raised these issues. When I shared that she put my daughter in an extremely awkward position by asking her to relay the message of my dismissal from her office, she replied, “You know what? I am done,” and abruptly hung up.
I cannot recommend this office due to the serious concerns about certification, protocols, and professionalism.
